You can see the barrels and a bit of the hot glue in here, make sure you trim off any excess PETG from the front of the turret, there is almost no clearance between the front retaining clip and the front of the turret, any protruding PETG will cause the turret to fail to advance.
You're all set from this point if you're not painting, go ahead and reverse the disassembly process and you have a shiny new FireFly with PETG barrels.
This converts my camera remote for knee or foot operation.
I cant believe how well it works, saves fiddling with the remote while holding the fish
This is a modification made at the request of ramon meneses for the group Pimp My Pixels. The original can be seen at www.flickr.com/groups/pimpmypixels/discuss/72157603806209...
Basic approach: duplicate layer, make duplicate 80% multiply, copy skin from first layer and create top layer, blur gaussian 5 px, soften to 80% opacity, and finally blur out the person in the background by selecting and gaussian blur of 50%. This requires that the face layer be brought to the top to overlay the background correctly.

Here's your fully disassembled turret, at this point if you're not replacing the barrels with PETG or PVC then you can put everything back together and you're all done, if you're doing a barrel mod, read on.
I was a little sad his product markings were going to go away, but they're actually still visible after the dye job.
Macro Monday - textile textures
This is my canvas sun hat. Above is the outside hat band. Hat did not have a chin strap so I added one. Below is the underside of the front part of the brim. The tan color was not dark enough for my taste, so I took a Sharpie and added some cross-hatching. I have no compunction about modifying my gear to work better for me.
Dawn's faceplate is pretty much done, I finally got to try out my dad's airbrush....booy it was super hard haha. but I guess I did a pretty decent job. I shouldn't be too hard on myself, this is my first time with an airbrush or any doll customizing whatsoever.
Really can't wait to put her together now and have many photosessions from now on :) but gotta wait a little while longer (waiting for one more thing)
