Slitcam modification of an Ilford Envoy camera as described by richard314159 here:

I simple slit, approximately 8mm wide has been made using black card, the film was advanced by 1/8th of a turn after each exposure, so at the beginning, when the take up spool was "slim" the slits overlap, while by the end of the film there is no overlap, or even a small gap.

I did not know.

I did not know, that when a drummer's drum pedal is pressed that the position of where the mallet head strikes the drum head- can affect the sound.

Apparently- if the mallet strikes precisely at the drum heads center- the sound is optimal-

richer and "bass-ier" than striking off center, where the factory pedal causes the mallet to engage the drumhead.

So- what to do?

Either, lower the Pedal, or raise the Drum head higher.

Sounds Simple- right?

Simple, as we've discussed earlier kids- ain't always so simple.....

Adding Thien baffle inside Harbour Freight 2hp dust collector

I'm selling these on IAM.

0g SF glass plugs from Liquid Glass (my hometown glass shop.)

7/16" clear silicone tunnels.

1/2" Howlite plugs (the marble-y looking ones.)

1/2" Bloodwood spirals. I LOVE these,

A few additional components have been added since the previous main board photo. An additional supply decoupling capacitor, some resistors and a transistor. Several wires have been changed and re-routed.

The others are explained in the previous photo of the keyboard/display...

This is a cheap Ebay OC-E3 cable which is used to off-shoe mount a flash, while allowing ETTL signals to continue to work.

I was getting sick of having nowhere to temporarily place my flash while using this cable. Adding this "cold shoe" to the top of the camera end allows me to simply place the flash on top of the camera, therefore freeing up my left hand.

As the unit was not designed to take a load like this, once the functionailty was confirmed, I used Araldite to seal the units closed. The cold shoe is mounted using the original four screws and the addition of some Araldite.

The cold shoe was recovered from an old Ebay trigger that had died. The screw on the top of this unit is there to stop the flash sliding off the front. This isn't exactly rocket science, but it will save me a lot of messing about trying to find somewhere to sit the flash. Not my most elegant work, but I was more worried about strength than beauty!

Lit by a Canon 580ex2 using Skyports. The flash was bounced off the ceiling which softened the light.

I picked up a Plo for cheap at LEGO's Black Friday sale. Since I don't have him in mini-figure format, I decided to try my hand at removing the keychain.

The only tool I needed: A pair of needlenose pliers/snips.

Blog: unsane1.livejournal.com/929073.html

I modified a bunch of IKEA Gorm shelves so that I could mount them deep-wise instead of the standard wide-wise. I added support struts to the long edges of the shelves to do it.

After much deliberation in my head, today I painted the insides of Picassocam and paintcancam with flat black paint. I've enjoyed the unexpected reflections that pop up on my negatives from their shiny insides, but we are off to the bright, white sand dunes later this week, (in very sunny weather!) so I don't think I can afford internal reflections.

Off to try them out...to see if the deep, black abyss willl affect exposure times and conditions.... (-:

The crankshaft bolt looks quite rusty in these pictures so i ought to get a new one.

From first glance I knew I wanted to get this. But the gap on the canopy was unacceptable! The other mods were just my preference. Plus I added a crew.

A little...very little in fact...velcro modification I did to my Vivitar 285HV. I'm not entirely sure how well this will work on other flashes, but it works well on this with the lip.

I got the idea from a post that some one put on the strobist group about a similar item you could purchase for $10. I had a roll of the velcro straps that we use to bind network cables at work and cut off a piece to fit around the flash. You just have to make sure you pull it tight when fastening it so it doesn't slide around.

And there it is, a very cheap way of adding velcro to your flash that will not leave residue. I'm sure some one out there's probably tried this before or mentioned it.
