Modifications to the coupler pocket to allow the cushioning to work after the airline support bracket was added.
I've added an output gear to the shaft. The gear simply slips on the shaft. The tension on the nut ensures that the gear rotates with the shaft.
March Field Air Museum
Designed as a modification of the legendary General Dynamics variable–geometry “swing-wing” F-111 fighter-bomber, the FB-111A served in the United States Air Force Strategic Air Command from 1968 until 1991. Intended as a replacement for the B-58 Hustler and as an adjunct to the B-52 Stratofortress until a more advanced nuclear-armed manned bomber could be procured, the FB-111A supported the third leg of the US Triad Nuclear Deterrent strike-force consisting of manned bombers, Inter-Continental Ballistic Missiles and Submarine Launched Ballistic Missiles.
In addition to strengthened landing gear, an increased fuel capacity, lengthened wings and a fuselage over two feet longer than standard F-111 the FB-111A was equipped with advanced electronics including an improved attack radar, internal navigation system, digital computers and multi-function displays to support its role as a nuclear-armed strategic bomber. Its variable wing design, extending out for slow-speeds and sweeping back for high-speeds, allowed the aircraft to operate a peak performance in sub-sonic and supersonic flight.
Armed with up to six Boeing AGM-69 SRAM, short-range attack missiles with up to a 210-kiloton nuclear warhead each or nuclear gravity bombs, the FB-111A had a total weapons load of 35,500 pounds making it a credible threat to any major adversary. Unofficially nicknamed the “Dark Vark” due to its distinctive dark green and grey Strategic Air Command paint scheme, 76 FB-111A’s were delivered to the USAF before production stopped in 1971.
The museum’s FB-111A serial number 68-245 saw operational service with the 509th and 380th Bomb Wings, Strategic Air Command until retirement in 1991 with 5,685 flight hours. This aircraft is on loan from the NMUSAF
After a replacement Heath/Zenith 5411-A motion sensor failed the same way (bad design) the first one did in a porch light (would only turn on in test mode), I decided to use a Regent motion sensor instead. This involved making an adapter between the Regent box and the Heath ball-and-socket swivel, which fits in a standard hole in an exterior electrical box (good design).
I needed to use the putty knife to get past all the plastic snap-tabs on the Regent unit (bad design).
1. I make bigger aperture hole ~7mm for poor light shots.
2. I move range stopper, so now Holga can make shots from ~55 cm.
I know this is a 1911 corset sew-along, but I naturally have about a 14 inch hip spring. If I were a teenager I would have loved getting some hip reduction, but now I'm all about embracing it! So I've decided to keep the original pattern waist and add to the hips and a bit to the underbust.
The original lines are those dark bold curves, and my additions are on the outside. I added them using the bezier curves on my favorite photo editing program (an old version of Paint Shop Pro), and not a hip curve, so I may have to go back and do some editing later (in fact, I think I made some marks on a few of the pattern pieces in light pen just in case). I also did some resizing of the pattern in this program, but due to my errors when viewing them in another browser and printing them out, I had to resize it about 196% more after that. Oh well!
I don't think the registration marks really line up anymore after editing them out in straight lines, but they still line up at what may be the most important part--the waist. Not totally sure about the curves I added in at the top and the bottom to make the edges line up, either...
Posted on my blog here: multi-crafts.blogspot.com/2012/01/1911-sew-along-so-far.html
Adding a #4 machine screw to the output gear is a good idea if the load on the servo could strip the plastic threads of the output gear.
To put this screw in place I had to drill out the output gear twice. First I drilled right through to allow the screw to fit. Then I drilled the bottom a bit wider to accomodate the screw head. Be careful not to drill farther than necessary with this latter operation.
There's really nothing holding the screw in place at this point but it doesn't slip easily either.
Not only did I trim the knob flush with the collar, I cut a little slot across both the collar and knob. This is to help the epoxy lock the pot's shaft in place. Ideally this slot make a straight line when the pot is in the centered position. That's why we made the effort to line it up before trimming it.
I used a dremel rotary tool with a cutting wheel to trim off the knob then make this slot.
[Actually using superglue instead of epoxy is recommended on these plastic parts. And the slot is pretty much unnecessary in that case.]

I was about to throw out this ~1950s vibrating “sex toy” of a DE Razor. However, commented that I should use the head on another handle because it gives an excellent shave. I’d try it right now, except my skin is as smooth as an Asian baby’s bottom from a triple-pass shave this morning. I shall try the head on my birch bark handle when I wake up at 10:00 a.m. on the morrow.
With the last name “Wolf” it indicates he’s a lycanthrope or at least has werewolf blood in his genetics. Someone with the last name “Wolf” might tell you that werewolfs are mythical creatures, but anyone who DE shaves knows better. If you hear a wolf howl while you’re shaving and have cut yourself. Stop wet shaving and get the family silver. Gold don’t work on a werewolf.
Spaced out the guns on the top and added a mechanism to lower the grabbing arm.
Pull on the rod at the end and it will drop the grabbing arm thing.
The case opens when four long screws are removed via the bottom. The gears are greased and we would like to keep them that way throughout the procedure. At this point we get our first view of some key elements: the feedback potentiometer and the mechanical stop on the output gear.
This is a photograph from the 1st round of the 2015 Mullingar Road League which was held in Belvedere House and Gardens, Mullingar, Co. Westmeath, Ireland on Wednesday 6th May 2015 at 20:00. This year the 5KM was ran on a modified route based on the route from the last couple of years. Tonight the final 1KM stayed within the Belvedere Gardens bringing runners down to the lakeside for a second time and finishing along the aptly named Stream Of Life. The route modification meant that the race offered a slightly faster route than the hill finish of previous years.
The race is promoted by Mullingar Harriers for the Pat Finnerty Memorial Cup. Competitors need to run 3 races out of the 4 races in May (any order) to be considered in the overall placing in categories at the conclusion of the league. Over 350 people took part in tonight's event. The weather was perfect for running with sunshine with just a little breeze. The new finish area provided a nice space for runners to stay around and chat in the evening sunshine. The Mullingar Road League 2015 has started off successfully and looks to add to the success in the history of this great series.
The "Road League" is something of a misnomer but is an indication of the League's origins on the roads around Ladestown Mullingar prior to it's move into Belvedere in 2008. The Road League is the envy of many other races in the country as the Belvedere locations offers a completely traffic free 5KM route.
We have an extensive set of photographs from tonight in the following Flickr Album: www.flickr.com/photos/peterm7/16772614064/

I want to download these pictures to my computer or device?
You can download this photographic image here directly to your computer or device. This version is the low resolution web-quality image. When you click on either of these you will be presented with the option to download the image. Remember just doing a right-click and "save target as" will not work on Flickr.
I want get full resolution, print-quality, copies of these photographs?
If you just need these photographs for online usage then they can be used directly once you respect their Creative Commons license and provide a link back to our Flickr set if you use them. For offline usage and printing all of the photographs posted here on this Flickr set are available free, at no cost, at full image resolution.

Many people offer payment for our photographs. As stated above we do not charge for these photographs. We take these photographs as our contribution to the running community in Ireland. If you feel that the photograph(s) you request are good enough that you would consider paying for their purchase from other photographic providers or in other circumstances we would suggest that you can provide a donation to any of the great charities in Ireland who do work for Cancer Care or Cancer Research in Ireland.
Let's get a bit technical: We use Creative Commons Licensing for these photographs
We use the Creative Commons Attribution-ShareAlike License for all our photographs here in this photograph set. What does this mean in reality?
The explaination is very simple.
Attribution- anyone using our photographs gives us an appropriate credit for it. This ensures that people aren't taking our photographs and passing them off as their own. This usually just mean putting a link to our photographs somewhere on your website, blog, or Facebook where other people can see it.
ShareAlike – anyone can use these photographs, and make changes if they like, or incorporate them into a bigger project, but they must make those changes available back to the community under the same terms.
Above all what Creative Commons aims to do is to encourage creative sharing. See some examples of Creative Commons photographs on Flickr: www.flickr.com/creativecommons/
I ran in the race - but my photograph doesn't appear here in your Flickr set! What gives?
As mentioned above we take these photographs as a hobby and as a voluntary contribution to the running community in Ireland. Very often we have actually ran in the same race and then switched to photographer mode after we finished the race. Consequently, we feel that we have no obligations to capture a photograph of every participant in the race. However, we do try our very best to capture as many participants as possible. But this is sometimes not possible for a variety of reasons:
►You were hidden behind another participant as you passed our camera
►Weather or lighting conditions meant that we had some photographs with blurry content which we did not upload to our Flickr set
►There were too many people - some races attract thousands of participants and as amateur photographs we cannot hope to capture photographs of everyone
►We simply missed you - sorry about that - we did our best!
You can email us petermooney78 AT gmail DOT com to enquire if we have a photograph of you which didn't make the final Flickr selection for the race. But we cannot promise that there will be photograph there. As alternatives we advise you to contact the race organisers to enquire if there were (1) other photographs taking photographs at the race event or if (2) there were professional commercial sports photographers taking photographs which might have some photographs of you available for purchase. You might find some links for further information above.
Don't like your photograph here?
That's OK! We understand!
If, for any reason, you are not happy or comfortable with your picture appearing here in this photoset on Flickr then please email us at petermooney78 AT gmail DOT com and we will remove it as soon as possible. We give careful consideration to each photograph before uploading.
I want to tell people about these great photographs!
