I didn't even know "regular" meatballs had antibiotics in them! The fact that Fresh Direct has to state that their meatballs are free of antibiotics sorta scares me - cuz 1.) I can't afford their antibiotic free meatballs 2.) how much of the food I eat has antibiotics? Obviously a lot! That's why I am a vegetarian 90% of the time.

Cocktail meatballs have this sweet tang that, quite literally, makes you salivate. There is something about the combination of the Worcestershire sauce and the sweetened chili sauce that has this mouthwatering effect.

[World of Wonders Sideshow at The Great Allentown Fair]
The World of Wonders is one of the last of the traditional sideshows appearing on the American midway. Owned by legendary showmen Ward Hall and C. M. Christ, WOW travels up and down the eastern seaboard delivering a firsthand glimpse of the sword swallowers, strange people and fire eaters that were once a ubiquitous part of any fairground experience but are now an exotic rarity.
Here, Brazillian-born filmmaker and historian Cris Siqueria works the bally as WOW's outisde talker, enticing the crowds to get a closer look at the boa named Meatball before venturing inside the tent to see the rest of the show.
Our Head of Social Media at Great British Chefs lunch - she cooked meatballs & firend bought round the pesto pasta
Traditional advertising is inherently selfish. It interrupts in order to generate money (part of which pays for more interruptions). That approach doesn't work at a cocktail party, or at a funeral or in a social network.
This is the meatball sundae. Asking what the medium can do for you instead of what you can do for the medium.

Made some Finnish meatballs today. Among other things there's 1kg of meat, 4 huge onions, a bucket of potatoes, red wine herb sauce, beet root in red wine, a fist size lump of garlic, komijn, chili, more paprika than humanly acceptable, a grinderful of black- white- and red pepper, and most importantly fried and baked in real butter and none of that margarine bs. Now that's a sipcy meat-a boll!

This is from my first visit to Ikea!
Another thing to tick off the list.
There is a handy sign that informs you that the dish is meatballs
We all have them and today it is my turn, one of them days where nothing at all goes to plan, I spent hours waiting on a service provider for a project I am running, the weather has been miserable and I forgot to take a shot for my Project 365 until late... I figured it would be fine and I would have a play with some lighting and a food shot, simples. Only to discover that the batteries in my flash triggers had run out of juice, so instead of an experimental lighting shot I have nothing to offer other than a shot lit by a single flashlight mounted on the camera bounced off a wall. Hey ho, here's to a better day tomorrow!
I deciede to combine my dearest actions, drawing and cooking. So I created a new section in my log where I share what I´ve cooked the night before. A doodle and the recipe.

Hairy Bikers Lamb Tagine with (quail) egg
For the meatballs
500g minced lamb
1 onion, very finely chopped
3 garlic cloves, crushed
1 tsp ground ginger
1 tsp ground cumin
½ tsp chilli powder
1 tsp paprika
small handful coriander leaves, finely chopped
1 egg yolk (to bind)
salt and freshly ground black pepper
For the tagine
2 tbsp olive oil
1 small onion, finely chopped
2 tbsp tomato purée
1 x 400g can chopped tomatoes, drained
2 tsp clear honey
200g frozen peas
4 eggs or quail eggs
handful parsley, chopped, for garnish (I used coriander again)
Method
1. For the meatballs, place the beef, onion, garlic, spices, fresh herbs and egg yolk into a large bowl. Season with salt and freshly ground black pepper and mix well. Knead with your hands to form a smooth paste. Roll into walnut-sized balls and set aside.
2. For the stew, in the tagine heat the olive oil, add the onion and sweat until translucent.
3. Add the meatballs and cook until lightly browned on all sides. Combine the tomato purée with the canned tomatoes and add this to the tagine along with the honey. Cover and simmer for ten minutes.
4. Add the peas to the tagine or casserole and stir. Carefully break the eggs onto the top of the stew. Cover the tagine and simmer until the eggs are cooked to your liking, approximately ten minutes. (for quail eggs it should probably be no more than 2 minutes)
5. Garnish with chopped parsley or coriander. Serve with tagliatelle.

And now for something completely different :-). I've had a gross sore throat recently and the thought of this soup my wife made is delicious. Its been a while since there has been any of the soup around though but I've got these pics to remind me!
