I shot this as practice for my upcoming wildlife photography trip. It's amazing how unsharp my pictures of Cormorants appear to me even when they're in focus.

Dormition of the Theotokos Cathedral in the background and statue of Avram Iancu, Cluj-Napoca, Romania
Avram Iancu (1824 – September 10, 1872) was a Transylvanian Romanian lawyer who played an important role in the local chapter of the Austrian Empire Revolutions of 1848–1849. At that time Transylvania was part of the empire. Hungarian revolutionaries in Romania (many of whom were landowners) refused to debate the abolition of serfdom (which at the time was the state of the larger part of the Romanian population in Transylvania). He started rallying peasants in the Apuseni (Western Carpathian) Mts. to protest. As the Austrians granted the abolition of serfdom, they also forbade all representative institutions in Transylvania. Avram Iancu was censored throughout his life, had his library confiscated, and was placed under surveillance. The Austrian authorities knew that his presence alone served to inflame local sentiments. Avram Iancu was officially declared a Hero of the Romanian Nation in November 2016 by the Romanian Parliament and the president Klaus Iohannis.
Built in a Romanian Brâncovenesc style, a synthesis of Renaissance and Byzantine architecture, the cathedral is located in the Avram Iancu Square, across from the Cluj-Napoca National Theatre. The cathedral was built between 1923 and 1933, after the Union of Transylvania with the Romanian Old Kingdom. The main dome of the Cathedral, inspired by the dome of Hagia Sophia in Istanbul, is surrounded by four Romanian Brâncovenesc style towers. The 18 large columns supporting the dome are sculpted in stone. The main material used for the construction of the Cathedral was stone extracted from Baciu and Bompotoc. (Wikipedia)

I captured this image as one Atlantic puffin was gathering the feathers for nesting material They certainly know how to recycle and it was great fun to see just how many he could get in his mouth !! It's been a year since I posted one of my favorite photos( Marvel vs Dc Comics) and I wanted to do something special, specially because this year is a Superhero's year, with a lot of movies, tv shows and dolls.😄😄😄😄
In plants veins transport materials both to and from the plant tissues. In mammals however veins return blood back to the heart after it has traveled to parts of the body and delivered oxygen. The veins carry the deoxygenated blood
(which has picked up carbon dioxide on its journey) to the heart where it is again oxygenated for recirculation through the body via arteries. In plants veins perform both functions - they are a plant's life line, and plants are our life line.
During photosynthesis which requires light, plants produce and give off oxygen. At night when there is no light, plants absorb a small amount of oxygen and give off carbon dioxide; however overall, they produce many times more oxygen during the day than they consume at night. And that my friends, is what keeps us and our planet alive.
"In the process [photosynthesis], they produce oxygen, which constitutes a significant portion of the air we breathe so less plants means less recycling of
carbon dioxide and less oxygen production. Plants also give us food and fibers to make clothes and without photosynthesis, we would not be able to sustain the life we are living." Second of four shots of birds carrying nesting material. This big, beautiful hawk was perched atop a power pole, and watched me as I slowed to a stop and poked my lens out through the window of the rolling red Toyota blind. Then away it flew.
This was early April, with a lot of snow still on the ground and reflecting up to illuminate the hawk's underside, creating a bright, cheerful image. At other times of the year, the ground surface is green, or yellow, or brown, and the reflected light is both tinted and dimmer. Love the neutral light from the snow, and how it kept this raptor's white plumage tint-free.
I suppose a natural perch would have been preferable, but there are hundreds of power poles and fence poles for every tree in this part of the world. Of the four shots in this mini-series, only one will feature a bird perching on something that wasn't manmade. So it goes.

La composición se componía de locomotoras 308 y 313 de Ferrovial+contenedores de carga de arena para las pruebas de carga en puentes+Bateadora y perfiladora en cola.
