I don't think my local "Gen group" got anything right about this Charter, as it was variously reported as 86259 (probably due to an error on www.railtourinfo.co.uk), which was working 1Z86 from Euston today & the routing was shown as out via the Tyne Valley & return via the S&C, the opposite to what's happening (route incorrect on www.uksteam.info/tours/trs19.htm - probably left over from August 17th, when it was postponed) or as Donald would say FAKE NEWS!!!!!!!
The train arrived Carlisle 97 minutes late, after the "Skoda" failed & 1Z72 return, departed 95 minutes late. Any chance of making up time on return (behind 67020 from Tyne Yd), were thwarted when it lost over an hour between York & Doncaster (behind the 1615 Departmental from Widdrington to Up Decoy), eventualy arriving Kings Cross at 0134, a mere 191 minutes late (just like the good old days of the 1980's!).

A slight sense of deja vue for this image but in my defence I was expecting 90 043 + 90 048 which had worked the train from Manchester. Unfortunately they were ripped at Wembley for the pair of cans which are seen passing in a very lucky patch of sun. I had only arrived two minutes beforehand (they were already approaching Colchester 6 early when I got my phone out upon arrival on the footbridge) and it was a walk straight back home afterwards!
