This was exceptionally well timed! I was watching the progress of this and my train as we approached Chelmsford on OTT maps and I was sure I would just miss it but I had about 15 seconds to wait upon alighting and just had time to get back on board again after taking this in a lucky patch of sun.

The move was arranged as a route learner to train drivers between Northwich and Fiddlers Ferry PS ahead of a potential coal contract in September. It's amazing how much this 'classic' view of the low level line has changed in the past 5 years, the siding to the right is now a forest, regular class 60s, semaphores and coal trains (for now) are just a memory. 3/8/18

Seen in a very lucky patch of sunshine, Locomotive Service’s Class 47/7 No.47712 Lady Diana Spencer is seen under the wires on the Glasgow to Edinburgh main line near Lenzie on the 25th of February 2023, working the 10:00 1Z13 leg of the Scottish push, pull tour from Glasgow Queen Street to Edinburgh. The tour made up of a well turned out rake of 5 retro Mk3 Scot Rail coaches & a DBSO.

This was the second trip of 3 between the Glasgow & Edinburgh that morning, before the tour headed north later that day up to Inverness.

This was to get the steam loco to Laira for turning and prepping ready to continue the yearly tour of Great Britain on Saturday. More clearance around the area has opened up this view once more.

60024 'Clitheroe Castle' (with 66194 on the rear) powers the 1Z60 0545 Gloucester to Banbury, Pathfinder Tours "The Festive Midland-Ian", through Leamington Spa Station in a lucky patch of sunshine.

With DB withdrawing its final few Class 60s in 2024, this was the final railtour a DB 60 operated.

 

60024 was placed into store on 25/01/24, having worked its last train on 17/01/24. 60024, along with all of the other 60s, is unlikely to work for DB Cargo again. As of February 2024, 60024 was stored at Warrington Arpley and the only DB 60 not at Toton TMD. As of August 2025, 60024 is now at Toton TMD stored alongside it's former EWS and DB classmates with an uncertain future.
