Video Installation & 3d wall information by Sam Millen
Photo from our group show which was part of the Open Quarter 2014.
A quick sketch from a snapshot I took some weeks ago. It turned out really beautiful I think, and I think I'll add some colour, too, even though I'm very afraid to ruin it... Well. There's nothing to gain if you don't risk anything, I guess.

...wall art from the old studio. There was a stained glass shop going out of business in Pasadena. I grabbed a whole bunch of rolls of used paper from their dumpster. Turns out, the rolls I had planned to use for glue-catching/craft paper were all the the stained-glass layout sheets...complete with window-maker notations and traces from building the windows directly on the paper.
This was my favorite section of the series. The five panels are about 7' tall and 10'-11' wide. I love how Mary is bringing the guys some lunch. I wish I got that kind of treatment. Of course, I'm not the savior of the world or whatever.
I still have a bunch of other classic Biblical scenes on the rolls I found. My next favorite is a highly stylized depiction of the evil spirits being cast into a herd of swine who are jumping off a cliff. I'd like to see that window in real life.
We did the line drawing after we did all the exercises to practice seingt the shapes. I drew my hand again to see what progress i made in drawing hands
Snelle finelinerschets van een rol plakband. Werkt het best op dit formaat, eigenlijk, het is maar een klein tekeningetje.
Quick doodle with fineliner pen of a roll of sticky tape. Works best in this size, really, it's just a wee drawing.
This is a cartoon study of a jeep for practice I drew freehand and scanned in then I darken it slightly to bring out the detail.
Created using Derwent watercolour pencils.
