Zaos saves the day dealing a volley of blows to the Dreadnought - a huge pile of bones that rises up and crashes back down. They guarded the shores of the Isle of the Abbey, a secret cult of Vecna, enslaving creatures to find the lost bits of Vecna. The party was getting whomped and Zaos had a series of great hits that turned the tide of the battle.
This was drawn on the coach to London. The aim is to try to capture moving objects with Blind contour Drawing. In Blind Contour Drawing the idea is to follow a shape or line with your eye. As your eye moves slowly along the contour of an object so does your hand with your writing implement. You aren't allowed to look at what you draw. This was one of my first attempts at moving objects.
Tangles done in the "Zentangle A Day" Book, created by Carole Ohl, CZT. Colored with Derwent Inktense Pencils, Prismacolor Pencils, and fine line pens. Drawn with Micron .01 and .005 pens.
Thanks for viewing. Your comments are appreciated.
I should stop looking down when I walk on the street.
Chin up! Everything will be all right...

playing with illustrator for my first actual illustration project. i think line drawings are infinitely nicer drawn with pens and pencils.
Motorhead logo designer and legendary artist Joe Petagno had drawn "Judge Iron Fist" in an earlier issue - this was Dredd's response.
After this strip, Joe responded with another strip, then I responded to that...
And there's no cutting or pasting here - everything, including the Judge Dredd logo, was drawn from scratch using Rotring pens and indian ink.
This simple tracing turned out to be harder than I expected. It was an exercise in looking very closely at wrinkled, baggy clothes and deciding where to draw the lines. I recognized some of myself in this distant member of my tribe. When he takes a picture I wonder what happens to the folder under his left arm.
This is one more drawing of a photographer among many more thousands of photos of people drawing or carrying their sketch books and now iPads. I was much too slow in my tracing to have been able catch this man out and around looking for pictures, so, alas, I had to rely on the fast action of another photographer to stop his man (in midstride) for me. Thank you, unoforever.
Here is the photo my drawing is based on: www.flickr.com/photos/unoforever/7264437814/
Final page of a 4-page adventure I drew that appeared in the 5th edition of the Motorheadbangers fanzine, thirty years ago.
In Ella Clocksin's class today we were working on how we use visual memory in drawing. In this exercise we drew flowers we knew well completely from memory. We had to close our eyes and draw them without looking at the page using a technique called Blind Contour Drawing.

Very quick drawings or scribbles in between my shopping list. She did not want to sit still and kept on moving so I just continued to draw what I saw. Her name is Nonna and she belongs to the neighbor.
