This raised garden bed in Corten Steel is 4m x 2m x 0.3m high. It is light weight and easy to assemble, 8 pieces that bolt together. Each main part is only about 5kilos. The strength lies in the boxed edge design and folded corners. This one has is brand new.

We can make other sizes and shapes to order, much smaller than this if space is limited.

John Robertsons' fine 1958 21'' Fleur de Lis was ordered with 70 degree seat and head and many features typical of the 1930's. E.g, top tube cable clips, mudguard tabs on stays and forks, left hand lamp boss, no gear braze ons so built for fixed/free. The laid back angles are noticeable making the bike look older than it is. Note the short stem and 30's style celluloid covered bars. The brake levers have sleeves on the cable ends to bring the levers closer to the bars. From this we can deduce that Mr A.H.Verell of 48 St Pauls Avenue London NW2 had small hands and started his cycling many years earlier. The framset cost £19 and sixpence with a 5 shilling deposit. It was ordered on the 2/8/58 and ready on the 14/9/58

An 'upright' frame from 1947, lacking the slack angles of many pre war frames this is quick steering but comfortable due to the long wheelbase. Used for day touring and fast club work.

The frame and transfers had been lacquered all over. This had faded, yellowed and chipped so hours were spent removing it. A scalpel was used to get round the edge of all the lettering before a fresh coat was applied.

Padded "cells" from Billingham camera bag are a perfect fit. Held it place by a single strip of velcro. Holds X100 and filters etc securely while providing ready access. Plenty of room left for tools/spares, waterproofs, food etc. A tripod can strap to the top of large Berthoud front pannier when on tour...

The frame has been refinished after some old alterations. It has lost its headbadge but has an original old stock Excel transfer added instead.

Front hub is Baliss Wiley Super Club, bottom bracket is also Bayliss Wiley & frame number is 66655 but who made it?

Saw a few LR's this year, but this was definitely the most unusual.

A Sharpie pen being held up by a two inch square block of aerogel (also called "solid smoke" or "frozen smoke"). Note that the absorption and scattering properties of the aerogel make it look hazy blue against the black background, and slightly yellow against the paper. The aerogel block here weighs approximately 500 milligrams.

Omar Figueroa TKO6 Michael Perez

In the co-main event of the evening Omar "Panterita" Figueroa stepped up in class to challenge Puerto Rican Michael "The Artist" Perez in a 10-round lightweight title fight. Perez tried to box Figueroa in round one but Figueroa kept coming forward and in round two it was heavy trading in the center of the ring. The two fighters fought in a phone booth in round three. It was Perez for the first half of round four then Figueroa took over in the second half backing Perez up against the ropes and landing head shots. Perez was in trouble. His hands were down and he wasn't punching back at the end of the round. In round five Perez was holding on a lot. He was standing straight up and his legs looked weak. During round six the referee checked to see if Perez wanted to fight on. He indicated that he did but once again he ended up against the ropes not throwing back at the end of the round. During the break after round six Perez's corner stopped the fight with Perez retired on his stool. Post fight Perez said that from the 2nd round on he had no legs, had no power. Ironically one would have thought that it would have been Figueroa to have suffered that fate since he had to deplete himself to make weight on Thursday. Omar Figueroa wins by 6th round technical knockout.

I love overalls... so I made these. I wanted lightweight overalls that were practical and fun and made with the details I want. They have pockets inside the bib. I didn't want them interfering with how the overalls look. I also added some tucks that make them fit the way I want. I tucked the top of the bib, at the front waistline and at the bottoms of the pant leg.

When I saw the first one I thought it was a blob of paint obscuring the loop of the 'P' but then put my glasses on and realised they were all the same.
