Exactly 6 years later, I swapped my Nikon 200 - 500mm f/5.6 lens with a lightweight 500mm f/5.6 PF (Phase Fresnel)
The obvious advantage of the 500 PF is weight savings as well as smaller size for better handling.Time will tell with the photo quality whether it is worth the wait or not.
Due to my background as a black and white analog photojournalist, I keep abreast of technology changes. Every new model or technical change needs time.
While writing these lines, my first digital camera experience 20 years ago is from the days of Nikon D100, today Advantages of mirrorless cameras 45.7- megapixels shoot with the full-frame the new flagship camera Nikon Z9.
This is an incredible technological advance. I have been using Nikon D850 for about 1.5 years. It is a professional level, 45.7 megapixel, full-frame workhorse.
How long will the Nikon D850 hold this position as a DSLR, it already has a question mark. Nikon rumors are swirling at the moment to give us an idea of where the brand will go next?

Lens - With Nikon TC 14E II hand held - Monopod and SPORT VR on. Aperture is f8 and full length. All my images have been converted from RAW to JPEG.

59203 descends towards Crofton near Wolfhall with a very short 7A09 07:12 Merehead - Acton
Single 59s on this working are now rare. In this case it looks like the train is formed of one portion, with only box wagons and no hoppers, so no need for the additional 66.
Due to strike action there were no passenger workings over the B&H all day, but 7A09 still managed to run an hour late (after leaving Merehead over 2 hours down)

I really like the weave and texture of this fabric, which perfectly suits the design. Now I've learnt something of how to make lampshades I can't seem to stop: I suspect that making lampshades is addictive.

70807 is hauling the lightweight (2 vehicles) 6M50 the 08.01 Westbury Down T.C. to Bescot up Engineers sidings, the train is on the gradient approaching Lapworth station.The double sun ray is caused by the 2 trucks behind the loco being low sided, I had not noticed this at the time of the photograph.

Last stop in Maine: The Penobscot Narrows Bridge in Prospect.
When you're used to massive steel girders and bulging suspension cables on your bridges, this thing looks spindly. But I went up to the observation deck at the top of the tower here, 420 feet above sea level, and it wasn't swaying under the weight of passing traffic or blowing wind. Just a little cramped inside.

Olympus from the beginning knew the secret of lightweight photography. Thanks, Olympus and Fujifilm for keeping this Philosophy. In the meantime, I use a backpack.

De esta forma distribuyes el peso bien y no pesa tanto.

The advent of sufficiently lightweight tracking technology has facilitated several recent studies of roller migration, providing new information on the non-breeding sites used by rollers from different breeding populations. Individuals from south-west European populations migrate to south-west Africa (Angola, Namibia, Botswana), with French and north-Spanish birds taking a direct southerly route across the Sahara and Portuguese and south-Spanish taking a more westerly route around the west African coast. Rollers from eastern European populations also spend the winter period in southern Africa, but further east in Zambia, Zimbabwe, Botswana. The Sahel savannah region immediately south of the Sahara Desert (particularly the area around Lake Chad) appears to be important for rollers from many populations as an autumn re-fuelling site, and Latvian and other north and north-eastern populations migrate northwards via the Arabian Peninsula in spring . Individuals from different breeding populations use distinct but overlapping winter sites; there is a good correlation between the longitude of individual breeding and non-breeding sites, suggesting parallel migration. In the east, the northernmost breeders (from Latvia) tend to winter south of the southernmost breeders (from Cyprus) - this suggests a pattern of 'leap-frog' migration

The Belton Job pulls into the GRLW Yard with U18B 9503 (Ex SCL 251) doing the honors. This particular U18B has a smaller fuel tank than the other 5 (6 if you count 9501) U18Bs on Pickens’ roster. The reason for this is because it was one of the 12 U18Bs SCL ordered for its worst maintained branches, numbered 250 through 261. According to a book, SCL considered ordering them with A1A-A1A trucks but GE was able to lighten the locomotives sufficiently with Floating Bolster trucks. I believe 9503 is the only remaining example of the Ultra Lightweight U18Bs.
