Working in the dark-. ( Vilanova Lighthouse - Catalonia)

Story of the photo in English:

We chose a winter night to be able to work calmer without having tourists or couples in love on the sand on the beach.

We tried to get a good snapshot of the "Vilanova i la Geltrú" lighthouse, so a group of colleagues got together and I wanted to capture them at work, each looking for their own framing of the place where we were.

Since the shots were shot at very slow speeds, the problem was that we had the tripod on the sand and you had to be very careful that it did not move due to sinking in it or because of the wind, in addition to working with gloves because of the cold that was. day.

I also had to calculate the time in which the lighthouse made its turn to capture the flash of light that passed during the opening of the shutter.

The lights that are seen in the dark are from the viewfinders of my companions' cameras.

The edition has been quite laborious, due to the great darkness that we had in the place, in front of the powerful light of the lighthouse.

I hope you like photography, a big hug friends of Flickr. antoni.

Antoni.

Scanned slide, photo taken in mid June 1998

This was taken in Eyam in the Peak District a few weeks ago.

It was just before sunset on a long day of shooting. I very nearly didn't bother getting my kit out as it was very cold and I was ready for a rest and a pint.

As I said in an earlier post, I've challenged myself to try to produce some standard landscape shots rather than long exposure or fine art shots. I think it's actually more difficult to produce an eye catching landscape as they don't have the immediate grab of LE shots.

Aperture: f/20

Exposure: 1 second

ISO: 100

Camera: Canon 5D MKII

Lens: Canon 17-40mm f/4L @ 17mm

Processing: Photoshop CC

In this shot, the sun rays are much more definitive. This was a special moment and I'm glad I was there with my daughter.

To witness such an incredible array of light coming through a fog and into a forest is almost a life changing experience. Watching it in a redwood forest is a life changing experience.

California redwood trees are massive. The average age of a redwood tree is 800-900 years old but there are some that are over 2000 years old.

The coast redwood is known to have reached 115.5 meters or 379 feet tall with a trunk diameter of 9 m (30 ft).

This is a picture from the archipelago on the island of Bullerö, Stockholm. Bullerö is a nature reserve and consists of three islands. I and my family did a day trip with an old people carrier boat with a guide. One of the stops was at the island Bullerö. The picture is taken of the hunting cabin situated in "Rävängen". You can find more about Bullerö nature reserve in the link below.

At dawn in Angkor Wat, while others were having breakfast, I captured this moment of peace and enlightenment. Following the mantra of professional photographers—"while 'others sleep or dine, I shoot''. I managed to capture the natural sun's rays, illuminating this monk.

Gary and I ventured out in our truck camper in September to California's North Coast Redwoods. It is calming to walk among these giants who have stood together these last thousands of years. Our troubles today are nothing to them — a bleep in time. You can read more about our road trip in our cocoon in my blog. charlottegibbblog.com/road-trip-a-photographic-journey-th...

Light Streaming trough the trees of Sherwood Forest just off the A614 in Nottinghamshire. This is from a series of shots, a number of which I posted last year. In this version the contrast and the saturation have been boosted and the photo cropped.

Up on The Roaches in the week and had the plesure of watching the light pass over the land, this is looking East towards Danebridge and the Hanging Stone.
