We as photographers & nature lovers want the Lightning bolts - you know, the big ones, with a whipped crack, a billion volt bolt streaming to an earthed ground, followed by a roaring thunder after, but then most of the lightning is as above - An Intra-Cloud thingy. It is content, finding another oppositely charged particle right there in the cloud. No thunder. No dramatic hurtling crackles to the earth. Just a big dazzle in the cloud. Too soft for electricity that could feed a city for days!

It is like gawking enchantingly at a charismatic stranger (man/ woman), who has just entered a room; he/ she has your undivided attention even before they speak! Jaw Dropping Dazzle: D

First time trying out taking multiple pictures of lightning and stacking them together.

I exposed them differently since I didn't know what exact settings to use but now that I know next time I can exposure all the shots in the same so it won't be so hard to stack them together. ><

Anyway I think I spent about an hour or so standing at the highest floor of my HDB block trying to catch some shots lol

Also spent a lot of time trying to stitch them together Dx

Saudi Arabia and Kuwait placed orders for an export version of the Lightning in December 1965. The single seat fighters were modified variants of the F.3s designated as F.53s. The variant had much needed additional fuel tank capacity with the addition of a long ventral tank. The UK F6 variant was later updated, based on the modifications embodied in the F53.

Nice little storm to cool things off after a HOT day! I noticed there was a lot of cloud-to-ground lightning so I drove to the nearest open field to the north to try and capture it.

Euromast Rotterdam - Lightning

Lightning from the 22nd/23rd March 2014. Taken from the Mandurah foreshore looking up towards Perth.

Our first storm in months and it delivered a lot of bolts and a few mm of rain. One of these is taken from a beach, the reminder whilst chasing the cell inland. It got a bit too hairy after a while and I had to shelter in my car. The bolt photographed through the windshield is my favourite capture of the night. It was taken with my camera balanced on the steering wheel and both rain and a moving wiper are in the frame. But it captures the fury of that strike. The thunder was instantaneous and very loud! cloudtogroundimages.com/2014/03/23/day-186-lightning-at-l...

Taken From north Oxfordshire, most of these flashes were at least 40 miles away from me. I was really looking forward to a good storm but we only saw flashes from the edge of the storm front a long way away.

The first lightning storm this year.

This was the last big lightning strike as the thunderstorm weakened. My actual f-stop was set at f/4 not f/11. Wish I had it at f/11 for this unexpected bright display.

Kodachrome slide scan from 1980's.

Taken in Kirby Muxloe, Leicestershire, United Kingdom Saturday 5th June 2010. Behind the houses are L8 Pylons so its a good bet it hit the earth wire on top of them. A lot has changed in this photo, street lights are now White LED, Trees are much bigger and some of the houses windows and front gardens have been updated.

The lightning was flashing non-stop in the deep of that stormy cloud. The sky was clear above my mountain and the wind was blowing towards the storm, so I knew that I was safe.

Lightning over Lake Simcoe.

We had a massive storm hit my area last night. Whilst I wasn't quick enough to get a lightning bolt, I did manage to capture this sheet lightning, lighting up the sky with beautiful light.
