the start of a 4 hour lightning storm over bucks in the early hours of Wednesday 24th July
I watched the whole lot from the start to the end
Watching a crazy lightning show from a balcony, finally caught a good one after 20 something frames later!
'Twas the night before the night before Christmas, and all through the sky;
Not a creature was stirring, for fear of being blasted to pieces by lightning.
While visiting the "outlaws" for Christmas this year, the sky did this for me. The storm was very distant so we could hardly hear the thunder, but it lasted for about 3 hours. This is a stack of 18 images spanning just 9 minutes of that storm.
(I really should have scouted a better location for the shot, but having just arrived in town I was supposed to be dining with the family, not running around with a camera. )
A lightning storm passed through my town of Benicia last night so I tried my hand at the ever elusive lightning bolt and finally came up with this shot after waiting for hours!
here's the full set of stripes coordinates that are part of the Lightning Bugs & Other Mysteries line by Heather Ross for Free Spirit.
I changed the 215 & 240 around-sorry about the mixup...
due to some new info today (a shop that has both stripes and numbers on the bolts), I changed it back to the original numbers!

Lightning is one of the most favorite subject to me. Due to live in a dense city there are very few spots to catch lightning. Unfortunately in my country while lightning strikes it comes with heavy rainfall. So it's a li'l bit tough to go outside with gear. This photo was taken from my bedroom window on 8th floor.

From my front porch
According to VickiD, the weatherman reported 200 lightning strikes an hour during this storm.
Shortly after this composite: www.flickr.com/photos/79387036@N07/29149803572/in/datepos... lightning activity was subsiding. However, the above ~50 stacked image still captured a lot of lightning. The setting moon still provided much light for the landscape.
