On a foggy morning in Valley Forge, I was struck by lightning.

I love watching thunderstorms! Here's a combination of 2 10-second exposures I took after the storm passed overhead this evening at about 8:35pm ET.

Another round of stormy weather makes it way through central Texas, bringing with it some dazzling lightning displays!
A simple capture of a lightning strike in Montana. My brother and I travelled thousands of miles through tornado alley with Antony & Peter Spencer and our guide in search of bad weather.
Lightning started on the horizon and spread across the sky over my head. Photo taken from my from porch July 2004.

Saudi Arabia and Kuwait placed orders for an export version of the Lightning in December 1965. The single seat fighters were modified variants of the F.3s designated as F.53s. The variant had much needed additional fuel tank capacity with the addition of a long ventral tank. The UK F6 variant was later updated, based on the modifications embodied in the F53.
Never underestimate lightning like this tree did. It grew taller than the rest, towering like a kingly giant. Then one night boom! A single bolt whacked off the top third and spiraled down the trunk into the ground. Where, I'm certain it crisped the root system. Now what remains is a reminder to all as the limbs reach heavenly as if hoping for a return to glory.
Nice little storm to cool things off after a HOT day! I noticed there was a lot of cloud-to-ground lightning so I drove to the nearest open field to the north to try and capture it.
I was up all night taking pictures of the first good thunderstorm of the season, and managed to capture this picture. This is my first time taking lightning pics since I got my Nikon D50, and I am very pleased with the results.

Another one from the fabulous storm. This is a single exposure, not a compilation. Wonderful to watch

I watched the whole lot from the start to the end
Watching a crazy lightning show from a balcony, finally caught a good one after 20 something frames later!
So there I am, in my lounge listening to the thunder overhead and the rain lashing around, thinking "Shall I?" I know the wife won't be too happy. It's just past 10 and I have to get up for work at 5 then drive to Yorkshire in the evening. So I say to the wife, "You're going to hate me!".....she knows exactly what I'm thinking, and replies "Fine!" With retrospect I'm not sure she was "fine" about it, but I had to take her first answer.
I didn't have far to go to my pre-banked location which gave me a great view over the vale of Trowbridge. (Trowbridge.....nice from afar, but far from nice!). I was able to shoot for a good 25 minutes before I felt the first few drops landing. The hood went up and the cover went on the camera. But then I right lashed it down. I was tempted to remain but the heavy rain caused a mist that halted any future decent pictures. It was time to go to bed.
I would estimate the area being struck by the lightning was around the village of Holt.
