These were all taken in my bathroom with the lights off, the way I got different lighting was by shining partial light on certain parts i wanted illuminated for the shot, the streaks are created by showing the camera the light directly in front of it.
All of these were taken on a long exposure, and each displays a different style of lighting.

Had a flying visit to Burnham earlier to grab a few shots. Turned out to be a blinding evening, this is the first shot taken about 20 minutes before sunset.

. . . Usually people use this term for long exposure night shots, where someone shines a flash light on a dark scene, or "paints" in a time exposure with a light source.
This is light painting a Mum bloom during the day with a laser! Gives the flower a unique green glow that is reflected on to the wet petals!
Have a great week Facebook, Flickr, and 500px friends!
Here's a little series I put together of how I set up the lighting for the whicker chair shots.
Starting from top left I built it one light at a time. The first shot is ambient only. I knew I wanted to have light coming through the back of the chair so I added a speedlight. Didn't like the looks of it so I substituted one of my cheap-o studio strobes. That looked mcuh better. Next I added the 2nd studion strobe in a softbox back behind the chair and to CR. Next came the sb-28 in the DIY beauty dish high in front and to CL. After that it was all adjusting power levels and camera settings to get the final image in the bottom left corner. I think the progression is pretty subtle but it all adds up nicely in the end.
Here's the link to one of the final images, the same setup was used to make all the photos in and around the chair. Full Set
strobist - sb-28 in DIY beauty dish high front CL, bare strobe behind chair, 2nd strobe in softbox high back CR, all fired w/cybersyncs.
Here's another from my New Year's day trip to Cocklawburn.
It's a real gutter when you witness an amazing sunrise whilst you are at work. This has happened twice to me this week. Hopefully I will get the sunrise I want tomorrow but given my luck that seems highly unlikely. The lie in may win this round..
Ventured out yesterday afternoon but just didn't get anything worthy, but that's Photography.. The fact that this big galoot dropped his cable release in a rock pool is making things difficult too, but they are cheap enough to replace thankfully enough!
Lee 0.6 Hard grad used.
Shot today. Pretty much SOOC, except for reducing the brightness just a tad.
Thanks for looking/commenting. I always appreciate your visits.
Taken from my bathroom window. I turned on my shed light because the deer were coming in close to the house. Best seen enlarged.

The pictures similar to this come from my curiosity with long exposure and from seeing Ben McLeods version of this on the Flickr page. Learned to wash the windshield first. Thanks for the inspiration Ben.

Comments and constructive criticism always appreciated.
The lighting was just right to catch the beautiful purple color of the flowers sharing space with the big trees. Shot this at the Morton Arboretum in Lisle, Illinois.
Have a great weekend everyone :-)
