Ok. I have no problem with falling into deep snow (with my camera on a tripod in my hand), because i could not see a hole in the ground in the darkness. Also, temperatures below -10 C, a frozen camera (yes, it had an ice shield around) can be survived. BUT - if i get no acceptable photo for my efforts, i am really UPSET!
There was a little fog in the air tonight, not much. But it was enough to spray the lights of the town into the sky, and my intended winter startrail was spoiled. THIS SUCKS!
At least, i took a evidence shot of that damned light pollution, for not coming home with empty hands.
And, eh, i had to push this a little with a limited fractalius effect.
There's an interesting light show over at Dykers Height! Even though the holiday season is over hopefully it's still up!
Ahhh guys I'm so sorry! Merry (late) Christmas, happy (late) Kwanzaa and Happy New Year 2014! Hopefully this would be the best year for the community of Flickr! I haven't been online for a while since I have to finish up the college process (extremely ruined the 365 project process) so my update would be very slow for another month.
For this month I'll probably post 3 times a week (I'll try for 5 times!) and I suggest you follow me on instagram where I post iphongraphy!
The Grandstand Rock is a place of stunning beauty and mystery. This dry lake bed is best known for its strange moving rocks "racetrack" or "moving rocks" deep within a remote area of Death Valley National Park. It was quite memorable place as I stood there to take in the surrounding landscape when all the sudden this beautiful dance of light vs shadow casted over the rock and lasted for a few minutes before sunset.
Light art, performances, music and fire acts. Manifestation with 20 international and Dutch artists showing their light art objects and video projections.
"There are two ways of spreading light; to be the candle or the mirror that reflects it." ~Edith Wharton~
The mirror lens design does not utilize aperture blades, and thus the aperture of the lens is fixed at f/8. Exposure may only be controlled by shutter speed, film or sensor sensitivity.
By using a mirror design similar to that of a telescope, this lens uses very little glass compared to traditional telephoto lenses and is thus much smaller, lighter, and far less expensive than traditional lenses in the same focal length. However, this and all other mirror lenses can produce an 'undesirable' donut shaped bokeh in the image it produces.
When we saw that tree, Ophélie told me "I want to climb this tree, let's do some photo here."
When she was on top of the tree, the light, the location, the tree and the white dress made me think about the Virgin Suicides by S.Coppola. So I asked Ophélie to pretend she was Cecilia Lisbon. I'm kind of proud of this. :) This movie inspires me so much.
From a recent trip to Denmark, Western Australia. We were blessed with great light & clouds.
We were not so blessed with clouds of nasty Sandflies that ate me alive!! *~*

In life we go through tough times, but if we stop and think about the good things in our lives, the inner light we might feel to be dull or burnt out, shines once more. I've been dealing with a lot of metal problems lately, which have been made worse by family and work.
I am not ashamed to admit that for half of my teenage years and all of my adult life I've been battling with anxiety disorder, depression, being bipolar and suicidal thoughts. I've never followed through on the worst of the issues, but so often I've felt alone and have shut down and withdrawn myself from everyone around me.
Since becoming a mum I haven't been able to do that like I did before I had my son because he depends on me... but lately it's been so very hard and I've felt like some people in my life don't understand how hard it is for me to put on my fake happy face most days.
There are people in my life though who don't let me shut down, my son being one, but he is unaware of the issues I battle with constantly. Two other are aware of what I deal with and they've been a driving force with me to stop me from shutting down and just collapsing into myself. I am so thankful and blessed for two of them; for my beloved man and my amazing friend who I call my Twinny.
With the help of the people who remind me every day I am wanted and loved... I've again found my light and I am happy to let it shine once more.
"Chairs in the Morning Light". Challenge: Panning. This is a photo of the legs of my dining room chairs in the morning light. I was just playing around with the beautiful light reflection under the table and tried the panning technique we learned in MISA.
Apartment Building. All the different light bulbs, neon lights, etc give an very interesting color scheme.
A candle to light the longest night of the year -- along with toast cut into decorative shapes, edible ornaments for the creatures.
Embrace light. Admire it. Love it. But above all, know light. Know it for all you are worth, and you will know the key to photography.
