Entry for leap into spring challenge

Trying to quit with the local light house but just can't seem to kick the habit.

When the fluorescent lights move from green to orange - there's a waffle in the light. I am not sure if this is due to the repeated fluorescent lights, or if it is a pattern from the different light frequencies.

Another quick dabble with frequency separation technique to smooth skin. It is quite easy to overdo it, and I think I've done that here. More practice methinks :)

To be honest, I'm marking time at the moment. Sarah-Jane and I are doing some new shots this week hopefully. So I can fine tune this technique on some new material.

You can see the before and after HERE

As I've mentioned numerous times, the desert serves up awesome early morning and late evening light, more than making up for its harsh and nasty mid-day light. A passing snow cloud helps balance this scene

One thing about photography that never ceases to amaze me is how diverse it can be. Light painting is a prime example of this because it allows the photographer to manipulate each image in very distinct ways using a variety of methods.

Picasso reincarnated as a light graffiti artist?

Lovely light and a not too bad a bike either!!

Out on Navi for an hour or so this evening.. (Football avoidance tatics!)

Canon EOS 500D & Mamiya Sekor Auto 135 mm f2.8 SX

Took this photo at a school concert where I helped cover. I was pretty surprised that my 550D could focus and knock out some decent image just from the light source from the candle. Also, this image receive almost none post processing. I have been really busy these days with school and final exams are coming up. So expect more photos after the exams!

It's been awhile since I shot light bulb and I'm looking forward to get more of them. I found these light bulb that caught me to shoot it while drinking at a bubble tea shot.

ragazza, non possiamo arrivare molto più in alto

You know that it would be untrue

You know that I would be a liar

Girl, we couldn't get much higher

after finishing a workshop in an art school last week, we found this funnel in the school trash... big, functioning, with a wonderful 'lived' surface -- hurray again to recycling

Part of my Light Painting (Set)

Created with an extended exposure using an LED white light unit. This shot (as with all my light painting photos) is SOOC except for the border and signature.

Thanks to Jane in Colour for her encouragement.

Please check out her wonderful photos here: Light in Motion

Another from the Cedar Rapids downtown library.

A "low" light shot in low light--ISO 1000.

Actually I shot a lot of low light images this past week, in the chapel at the cathedral for children's choir camp, but I had this in mind all along and gave in to temptation.

inside Al Suleymaniye Mosque - Istanbul, Turkey.

This light dome was crawling on the kitchen wall last night, never seen it do that before.

I took this shot on the bus, the window was a bit cracked and I thought it looked cool with the light coming through.

I had a few tags I think so I'll do some more facts here but I wont tag anyone else this time. I wouldnt want people to get annoyed haha.

1. Last night or technically early this morning I got some life changing news and its funny because I have had this feeling for a few weeks and now that I know the news I can see that they are connected. Instincts and intuition are an incredible thing that too often get pushed aside or ignored. So yes, big news that is a good thing but I am unable to discuss for a few weeks. I wanted to note my happiness and shock and belief in my gut feelings though.

2. I have booked a trip to Portland, Oregon for 4 days on the 16th. This will be my last sidetrip of this adventure. Less than 4 weeks left in Canada before I'll be home in Aus.

3. I think I might buy a dslr in portland as they have no tax apparently.. any tips on what I should be looking at?

4. I still cant get over north americas obsession with peanut butter hahaha.

5. I had so much on my mind last night I didnt sleep until after 2am. That is LATE for me haha.

6. I dont watch much tv at all. Have been enjoying SYTYCD and possibly a little bachelorette. Ha.

7. I was impressed with inception I almost had to eat my words.

8. Next year I must travel to uk/europe.

9. When I get home I might change my username. Unsure.

10. I find film so exciting, to see what comes out of all your hard work. I dont edit my film as I think it should be final.

Just remembered this one when Julie mentioned cold nights and the sound of frozen snow under the shoes!!!

BTW, the garbage can are for recycling..only pure "for burning" stuff in that one, everything else like glass, paper, PET-bottles etc etc are to be carried to special containers!
