This was a hard negative to work with. The sky was completely blown out in white because it was foggy that day. I did my best to burn it in & add some mood in the photo.
4x5
Took this a few months ago on one of the trails near my home. Loved the foggy scene and the skeletons of trees fading in the mist. Love the green and yellow of grass, a hint of early spring color.

This is from a few years ago. I did my best to save the image. I had some trouble with my 8x10 negatives recently. I was getting horizontal streaks in them. You can see them on this one. Itâs possible that it was due to a freezer that used to keep my negatives, or some other issue. It happened over multiple boxes of different films. I had it only on Ilford 8x10 films, though: HP5+, FP4+, and Ortho+. Has anyone else seen this?

Autumn colour typically comes early to the Deciduous Beech of the West Coast Range compared to other parts of Tasmania. Exposed to the full force of the weather from the west, many of the plants grow prostrate and are wind pruned.

I turned 40 this year. I know this is of no real significance as age is one of the few things that we have absolutely no control over, however I did attempt to investigate my ageing back when I was nearer turning 30, so I though it might be worth looking at again.
By ageing, in both cases a lot of it is down to hair loss. Hair loss and my being increasingly aware of skin's ability to form ever finer wrinkles. Something I believe I have completely failed to show in these pictures.

On day 3 of my 2016 fall color trip to Zion, I awoke to overcast skies and strong winds. I decided to spend the day exploring various washes and canyons to see if I could find anything to photograph. In the afternoon, I came across this unnamed slot canyon, and as the light was flat but the textures were beautiful and the stone was not affected by the wind, I decided to capture the scene on black and white film. After walking through this canyon back and forth slowly several times, gazing at the walls and soaking in the textures, lines, light, and shadows, I finally settled on this scene with a large rift in the stone wall of the canyon on the right forming a nice leading line, along with the wash itself meandering up the canyon and disappearing behind a tight bend in the slot.
