I turned 40 this year. I know this is of no real significance as age is one of the few things that we have absolutely no control over, however I did attempt to investigate my ageing back when I was nearer turning 30, so I though it might be worth looking at again.
By ageing, in both cases a lot of it is down to hair loss. Hair loss and my being increasingly aware of skin's ability to form ever finer wrinkles. Something I believe I have completely failed to show in these pictures.
On day 3 of my 2016 fall color trip to Zion, I awoke to overcast skies and strong winds. I decided to spend the day exploring various washes and canyons to see if I could find anything to photograph. In the afternoon, I came across this unnamed slot canyon, and as the light was flat but the textures were beautiful and the stone was not affected by the wind, I decided to capture the scene on black and white film. After walking through this canyon back and forth slowly several times, gazing at the walls and soaking in the textures, lines, light, and shadows, I finally settled on this scene with a large rift in the stone wall of the canyon on the right forming a nice leading line, along with the wash itself meandering up the canyon and disappearing behind a tight bend in the slot.

I must've hit the theoretical expiration date of these plates. I believe my first ones were shot in mid 2018. That or something else went terribly wrong. Second plate wasn't even worth sharing. Actually, what I think it was is the plates just not playing nice with Xtol. Darn shame.

Mural "Łódź"...
Najstarszy wielkoformatowy (900 m2!)
The oldest large-format (900 m2!) mural in Łódź was entered into the Guinness Book of Records as the largest graffiti in the world. It presents places characteristic of Łódź - Freedom Square with the Tadeusz Kościuszko monument, the Town Hall, a historic tram and the Church of the Descent of the Holy Spirit. And, of course, a boat with the Polish flag. 2,000 cans of paint were used to create this painting.

Exposed on Impossible Black & White Instant Film with a Polaroid SX70
Still catching up on previous scans done. Was out in the grey day with the Horseman Woodman 45 and expired HP5 and rodinal semistand. It probably wasn't the best combination for an expired film, but the lighting conditions were subpar as well. But even though the equipment and I got rained on, it was still great to get out there, slow down, spot meter, and still try to capture images for the detail that large format so wonderfully does. Thanks for the inspiration from my flickeranian colleagues.
