A long overdue catch up this evening with a good friend. We'd been out on the moors searching for Curlews. We did hear a few but sightings were rare.
On my way home the sun was looking grand and I had to pull over and take this shot.
Unfortunately the Lambo was in for a service so the Shhkoda had to provide the foreground!! :)

Jan 16. Explored shot #12, 3rd from my dslr TY!
What I believe was an old assayer building at Death Valley Mine near Cima California. When this was taken in 2019 it was in pretty bad shape. I came back a couple of years later and found it completely collapsed.

We all have those days. You get in from a busy day at work - with a stomach ache, might I add - sit down to eat your dinner and would you believe it? A chestburster. Not another one. And then, as your horrified wife asks if you meant to keep that monster, you explain to her that you'd wanted one for a while and would be forever indebted to her if she let you keep it, and that you're a bit preoccupied to be having this conversation right now.
It's just a rainy day somewhere in French countryside (Vendée), with a relax horses !!!

This little guy lead me on a merry chase trying to get a good picture of him. I think he was actually teasing me, and purposely jumping about to keep this old man from having time to even focus on his antics? He would jump from within inches of me, then fly to one of the nearby trees and back again to the handrail on the platform. Then back to one of the trees farther away and then to the ramp I was standing on till he thought he had me good and dizzy, then he posed just for a moment long enough to allow this shot. And of course I thanked him and Jesus of course for allowing me to get this shot. They're such cute little birds, I was happy to get the shot. I hope you like it? A couple of kayakers heading back in give a wide berth to the sea lions on the dock.
While the dock, and thus the sea lions are no longer there, I did get some very cool pics while they were.

This is done in-camera. It's not a post-editing effect or anything like that. I used a 10-stop ND so that I could get a pretty long exposure. I think the first 5 seconds were still, and for the rest of the time, I used the camera as a paintbrush, moving it up and down.
I have this shot on my desktop background right now (16:9 ratio is meant for my screen) and it looks quite nice.
