The sun tries to break through dark clouds over The Keep, Cardiff Castle
The castle sits in the heart of Cardiff city centre, and has many recognisable features.
The earliest are the remains of the walls of a 3rd century Roman fort that were incorporated into the later, current castle walls.
The Keep dates from around 1150 and was built on a man-made 10m high motte with a surrounding moat.
In the mid 1800's, an extensive refurbishment of the main castle buildings created a lavish neo-gothic revival mansion.
A small shell fish / crab walks along the driftwood at Neil Island, one of the remote islands in the Andaman and Nicobar islands...

Fractured Kingdoms: Calm
This painful calm always happens. Nothing is happening, nothing to stop you form wondering if you will be the one who doesn't make it or if you are the one who will survive and be forced to live without your fellow soldiers. When the fighting begins these thoughts disappear and are replaced with the terror of the battle and the fight to simply survive.
Finally the sight of light reflecting off of spears. The battle was about to commence.

I had the chance to take a photo with the very talented and fellow countryman Lizzard Alderton.
As I do a lot of b/w photos, his monochrome works and storytelling immediately caught my eye.

Hi yall, I've been busy taking photos but I'm back! Slowly trying to catch up with everyone 😁. Also got a new camera in the mean time (Nikon D500) that I've been playing around with this week.
Now to the photo, this squirrel gave me quite a run for my money as it didn't want to be photographed. It had fun jumping from tree to tree while I chased it with my camera. Now that it is uploaded to flickr I can finally catch my breath!

From our hike on Saturday. We made it to the top but we stayed briefly since there were 50 mph wind gusts. I was able to grab a couple of shots and then decided to return to the safety of a lower altitude..

This bird spends much of its time creeping about in one of the large empty buildings where it seems to have sourced an endless supply of spiders and small insects. It has a 'love - hate relationship' with a feisty Robin who also shares this space.
Occasionally the birds will emerge to keep tracks of the bigger picture and find other foods. Fascinating to watch their antics and skirmishes.
