This is what happens when I get bored.
2 hours of cutting out letters from pictures in vogue magazine. I was very satisfied with myself.
A crew helps keep a steel pile vertically straight as it’s driven into the ground to build a temporary work bridge over Union Bay. The work bridge will serve as a platform both to remove the old eastbound SR 520 bridge between Montlake and Lake Washington, and to build a new replacement bridge.

- 2 white letter sized sheets on table
- covered with a glass from a photo-frame
- a white shelf-board as background fixed by a chair
- flash underneath the table pointed upwards towards the shelf-board
- flash was set to 1/16

Fishing in the Keep of Silence

There is a hush now while the hills rise up
and God is going to sleep. He trusts the ship
of Heaven to take over and proceed beautifully
as he lies dreaming in the lap of the world.
He knows the owls will guard the sweetness
of the soul in their massive keep of silence,
looking out with eyes open or closed over
the length of Tomales Bay that the herons
conform to, whitely broad in flight, white
and slim in standing. God, who thinks about
poetry all the time, breathes happily as He
repeats to Himself: there are fish in the net,
lots of fish this time in the net of the heart.

The main keep of Himeji Castle in October 2014, after having been under renovation for several years. The castle has been repainted but the shining whiteness will only last for about a year, before microbes and bacteria eventually set out to dull the paint.

I don't know why buy I keep forgetting I have this photo. It was a last minute decision to drive here on this morning so it was a race against the clock while driving on the ice covered roads.
In the end I arrived to the location with plenty of time spare to think about compositions. Luckily there weren't any people around which made things a bit easier for me. I timed this shot so that I captured it as it bubbles up like a cauldron just before it errupts.
It is a tourist spot, and it is a bit of a "touristy" image I suppose but I don't care - how often do you see a fuming geyser?
