Hello There!

There is a local park which had some tulips that really wanted to be photographed. I obliged and spent that morning fooling around with the DoF while battling with the wind. Many of the images got turfed, but I decided to keep this one because I liked the colours which I did not alter. Editing and effects via Topaz Studio.

Happy Slider's Sunday! HSS!

One from the archives. Snowy Owls do a lot of sitting. They sit still in the same spot for hours, occasionally swivelling their head or leaning forward and blinking their big, yellow eyes to get a closer look at something. All that sitting is great for me because it's easier to get some shots of them before they go back to the Arctic. :(

A male House Finch just a chillin in the snow! lol

Actually he didn't appear so chilly, but I know I couldn't feel my toes anymore! lol

A very exhilarating experience to raise this Monarch from an egg to an adult and then see her fly away. Please plant milkweed if you can to keep the Monarch population up. It is the host plant for the Monarch and without milkweed, the larva would not be able to develop into a butterfly.

Thank you so much for your visits!

... at least until it's time to chow down. This Great horned owl sat patiently in the afternoon light while I strolled by, presumably waiting for the evening hunt.

I edit a bit my head

"The Western Snowy Plover is a threatened small shorebird, approximately the size of a sparrow. During the breeding season, March through September, plovers can be seen nesting along the shores, peninsulas, offshore islands, bays, estuaries, and rivers of the United States' Pacific Coast from Oregon to California." Information from audubon.org "Young Snowy Plovers leave the nest within 3 hours of hatching and are able to forage unassisted almost immediately (though the parents still brood them periodically to keep them warm). If a predator approaches, the parent gives a signal and the chicks flatten themselves against the ground. Snowy Plovers often raise 2 broods of chicks a year. Females occasionally desert their mates when the chicks hatch to begin a new nest with a different male." Gallery in the main Plaza in the old walled city.

Cuz when you're down, there's only one direction you can go.

No worries! I'm not down. This bird's position and eye just made me think that.

I think this is some kind of sparrow but I don't know what kind it is. If any of my bird friends out there know, clue me in :-)

I just like the colors in this

There is nothing worse than waking up in the morning and finding a big container ship or a grain barge in your yard. The obvious way to keep this from happening is to purchase one of our medium sized home lighthouses. This concrete model is very heavy and should only be erected by professional light house installers. (I have no idea where you can find anyone like that so don’t call and ask). This model has a lifetime warranty. It does come with instructions in case you have to do it yourself, but I would suggest you need big equipment.

On the other hand, we do sell a wooden model (not shown) that is easier to erect. It comes with only a one year warranty, for obvious reasons.

Get your orders in soon.
