Couple seen walking along the beach in perfect time, Caleta de Fuste, Fuerteventura, Canary Islands. I wonder what he has spotted in that beach tent? .....

Moel Eilio makes a great viewpoint, to the east, the mighty Snowdon, to the north, Elidir Fawr and the Glyderau, all the more atmospheric with clouds drifting on and off the mountains whilst patches of sunshine dance on the landscape.

I keep an Excel data log of all the birds I photograph, and found that I was not taking many shots of "common" species (like Robins, House Finches, and House Sparrows). I modified my photo habits... if they're in the viewfinder they get captured. If the shot is good, it gets saved and filed. Also, with international exposure offered by Flickr, what are common to us Yanks may be exciting to many of our foreign viewers. I believe this bird to be a first-year male.

Keep love in your heart. A life without it is like a sunless garden when the flowers are dead.

A very active geothermal spot and i was very much on my toes to not getting to close but i really wanted a good close up and i guess i just need to find the courages and do it lol but it is very dangerous to walk there because the ground is very unstable and under neath there is boiling hot mud and water and i dont think i would like to get that one me or my gear but ......not far from this place there has been some earthquake activity but it has settled down for now

I don't like it hectic; I like to keep it calm and do my thing - play the pass. I think you see the pass if you are in a good state of mind.

Some of my contacts have said they like a bit of red in the snow scenes so here is today's obligatory red and white picture!

Have a great weekend everybody!

The twelve-sided Keep at Cardiff is the finest in Wales and is known as a ‘shell’ keep. Its outer walls provided a shell for smaller buildings within it. From the top of the Keep the panoramic views of the city are breath-taking and to the north you can see as far as Castell Coch. There are approximately 50 steep stone steps leading to the Keep entrance and further steps to reach the viewing platform, but it’s worth the effort!

Standing on a great Norman motte (man made hill), this stone keep was built around 1140, possibly in response to a Welsh uprising. The last great Welsh uprising began in 1400, and in 1404 the town of Cardiff was burned and the castle sacked by Owain Glyndwr.

Time for a shot or two from the trusty old Lumix LX3. Still going strong. Got chatting to this guy and he was an interesting and gentlemanly person.

Thank you everyone so much for sharing your quality photos which is a great way to see and keep in touch with the world from home. Also for your kind comments and favours which are much valued. I am not able to take on any more members to follow or to post to groups. I prefer not to receive invites to groups

Tonight was the battle of the "M" beaches. Marshall Beach or Martin Beach. I'd been watching the clouds all day on the webcams to see where to go. In the end Martin Beach won and was glad I went back again, this time I was lucky and had better light.

An old fence surrounding the Lagoon pool in Newcastle this morning. It pays to turn around - The Colour this morning was better facing away from the sun.

Keep Out....Until Game Time??

Back in the day this sign would of never worked as when I was young (1970s) we would be playing unsupervised baseball games all the time. We would climb over fences to get to a field if needed, didn't matter how many kids we had (8 to 18) didn't matter, we were playing.

Today.....where are all the kids. I never see a ball game that isn't either little league or travel ball, what a shame. The pickup games we used to play were the best!

And today is the Detroit Tigers first game of 2025......Go Tigers!
