The first of a Journal Quilting project, part of a class at Valley Fabrics (LFS) that seems to be as much conversation and art class as quilting. Which is good! I don't want a class so much as I want pushing, deadlines and reasonable critiques. The theme for the year is All About Me, for January it is: Where I Am Now.

This leather journal made of soft burgundy red and brown leather with suede tie enclosure.
Filled with lined writing paper, included some pages in beige. Approx. 320 pages (160 sheets).

messy, but quickly made during ArtFest 2011. I was having too much fun to spend a lot of time on the pages right then!
It's been a very long time since I had a moment to play in my art journal but when I finally did I decided to make my Christmas trees out of tiny pieces of newspaper and wrote down all the words describing December, ending in "ing" It was fun and felt good to get back into it.
Journals that I bought to hopefully record important (and not so important) events in the lives of my three children. Part scrapbook/part journal.

Well I learned quickly that I can't draw worth a flip but it was still fun doodling away. I forgot how nice it is to just do something without pressure to perform and be perfect. Awww. That was nice.
Just a composition book journal...but decided to paint and collage the cover...layered gesso, acrylic paints, and various ephemera, some hand painted xstitch canvas pieces, pieces from a sewing pattern, cloth measuring tape and some vinyl screen....*shrugs* Just fun stuff....I also attached a ribbon to tie it shut...
