I love creating paper art in my art journal. This one despite a bit worn out has some amazing crafts that I love which have made me keep it and work with it. I call it a "paper art charm".

Following a storm, artist Sophie CALLE had to destroy some of her works. A hobby: something you do, enjoy, and don't get paid for? For me, that means writing. I spend a lot of time writing stories, journaling, pondering. I have stacks and stacks of old journals and notebooks from the years. I love the simple elegance of the spiral bound design.

received a friendship book that i had made ... and how it touched her so deeply. of course -
what made the book so dear were the photos and journaling of her friend linda ... who gifted the book to her. she really did touch my heart.
met many lovely women saturday and almost talked myself out of my voice :)
will be away today but will catch up with you again asap!

The wonderful crafty_dame sent me lots of fantastic papers in the mail, so I've been experimenting with using only collage on my spreads. The postcard in the centre is a page by itself. I love the way the red head peaks over the top!

I came across an article about heartsong journals and thought that described my style almost perfectly. A heartsong journal is a collection of thoughts, reflections, notes, lists, quotes, and general ideas that represent something about yourself. It’s not a daily journal, used for entries only when needed. They become full of things you want to reference again & again, becoming a scrapbook of your soul, an encyclopedia of you.
While this doesn’t perfectly describe how I keep my notebooks, it’s pretty close. I call them my “everything” and “chaos” notebooks because in them, anything goes. Out of all the journaling types out there, heartsong is definitely the closest to what I do. What a beautiful word to describe the style!
