I love creating paper art in my art journal. This one despite a bit worn out has some amazing crafts that I love which have made me keep it and work with it. I call it a "paper art charm".
* Sophie Calle - Les rencontres d'Arles 2024
Following a storm, artist Sophie CALLE had to destroy some of her works. She therefore chose to exhibit them in the cryptoporticos of Arles, where fungi (mold) are rampant. âAnd since I was going to offer a second death to my dying works, I also invited things from my life that no longer serve any purpose, but which I can neither give away nor throw awayâ Sophie CALLE

"Life is a shipwreck, but we must not forget to sing in the lifeboats." (Voltaire)
This was a quick shot of a half page of my SiL's journal that I snapped some time ago. My life got a little wrecked this past week, but in the last few days the song is beginning to return.
I will likely not be doing a whole lot of commenting for a few more days, but I'm getting there.
Also, in view of the day, politically in the USA, this may encourage you to lift your voice, or at least your spirits.
I will put some of the other quotes in the Comment section because they are a little hard to read, especially at this resolution.

ANSELM KIEFER, who was born in the ruins of 1945, got a major exhibition in MUSEUM VOORLINDEN.
Wim Wenders' 3D documentary âANSELMâ deepens the experience. For my review see the first comment.
with the beautiful lines of paper available ... what a joy to create journals.
all of the 10 i had at the saturday show sold :)) yay! almost sold out of cards! yay!
the dearest moment of the day was barbara ... whom i had not met before. she asked
"are you marilyn?" - and after i responded, told me, with tears in her eyes, that she recently
received a friendship book that i had made ... and how it touched her so deeply. of course -
what made the book so dear were the photos and journaling of her friend linda ... who gifted the book to her. she really did touch my heart.
met many lovely women saturday and almost talked myself out of my voice :)
will be away today but will catch up with you again asap!
smiles!!
I've been making 5x7 Coptic stitch journals using advertisements from 1920s dental journals for well over a year now and I still love the look of these - the ads, the images, the text. This particular journal has an ad for impression trays on the cover and smaller text ads on the back cover. And it's up on Etsy!: brooklynbookbinder.etsy.com
I decided that art journaling sounded like a fun idea and a good way to keep my creativity flowing. So, this is my first entry! I chose colors that make me happy and the monster is inspired by my favorite little Milky Robot monsters.
A year and a half ago I took
a two week course on organic gardening.
These pages are from the journal I used to take notes.
Done with micron pen and watercolors.

I've seen this book numerous times over the years and never bought it, but it seems lockdown was the perfect time to wreck this journal, a lot more fun than I expected!
I has been tagged.
btw SOOC
Explored :) oh gosh. #119 that's the highest I've got before!
1.I won two print giveaways today :) And I'm expecting two more prints in the mail already :D
2.I drove through rain stroms all day today, and the whole time I had sunglasses on. I realized that it made no sense once I got home.
3.I bought a new skirt today :) it's pretty!
4.I just recieved a text message.
5.I recieved a print today and a letter from someone who won my print giveaway :) She is so sweet to do that.
6.I really have made the most amazing friends here on flickr
7.Kelly Clarkson and Sara Bareilles are my favorite singers. They both have beautiful voices.
8.I need to clean.
9.Sometimes I wish I lived in my own place. Somewhere I could make my own, then I realized I have no money.
10.I enjoy writing in my journal(this one is almost full now) and here on flickr. Though I never write things from my journal on flickr, it's too personal.

How The Journal Began
From The Jackson Herald, April 23, 1897
"Dr. W.B. Hardman, editor of the Harmony Grove Echo-Gazette, has developed quite a fondness for newspapers, or else he thinks they are quite a remunerative investment, for he now owns two newspapers. Some time ago, Dr. Hardman bought the Banks County Gazette and consolidated it with the Echo at Harmony Grove. The Gazette was published at Homer and had the legal advertisements of Banks County. So the legal ads went along with the sale of the Gazette, provided no other paper was established in Banks County. Hardly had the Gazette changed hands before a little paper over at Baldwin moved into Banks and claimed the legal ads. Now in order not to lose the county work, Dr. Hardman has established a newspaper at Homer called the Banks County Journal with M.C. Sanders as editor and the Journal has the legal ads. The Journal is a well-printed, clean paper and Milton S. will make it hum.
"Occasionally, a fellow will come in and want you to give him a 'puff' and if you don't do it, he will swear he will stop the paper but don't feel discouraged. Again, another will come in and want to give you a licking for some offense you have given, but just keep your old British bulldog near by and you won't get hurt."
My other Hello Kitty Journal that I have been writing in is almost full so I went to Barnes and Nobles the other day and got this journal. So this will be my next journal. I really really love this journal! It's so perfect for me! Pink and Hello Kitty, you can't get much better than that :D And the pages inside are so cute!
I'm entering this in a call for visual journals by the Brooklyn Sketchbook Library to be put in a time capsule for 50 years (!). I've decided the theme will be birds, with the Emily Dickinson quote in mind, "I hope you love birds too. It's economical. It saves going to heaven."

I really appreciate your comments and faves. I'm not a hoarder of contacts, but enjoy real-life, honest people. You are much more likely to get my comments and faves in return if you fit the latter description. Just sayin. :oD
