This journal has a Coptic binding, sewn with a continuous thread and single needle. The Coptic binding technique dates from the second century AD and allows the journal to lay flat to make writing easier. Indigo threads from denim offcuts are recycled as confetti inclusions on this Baltic Blue mixed kozo sheet. Made in Thailand, this paper is acid-free and lignin-free. The text paper is 60 lb sketch paper made by Borden & Riley. Each signature cover is made of at least two different coordinating papers.

My niece asked for stationary to write to her pen pals for her birthday, so I assembled a pen pal pouch for her. Inside there is stationary, stamped envelopes (with vintage postage, natch), stickers, and a journal for keeping notes.
it was tough to get a good photo of this. Did my best. It's a very large journal so I have to stand of it to take a pic. it's 11 x 17ish I think...

This book has been prepared to disseminate all the outcomes and the details of the project. More stuff from Teesha Moore on the bottom. The eye was another photobucket find that I wish I could give credit for. There is like three layers of stuff on here, but it's really hard to see it all. Pastel, clippings, textured papers, sharpie, crayon, ink.

New journal covers that are for my next journal. A variety of scrapbook papers, colored pencil, painted papers (Holbein gouache), Sargent's glitter glaze and lots of coats of Polycrylic.

Handmade journal. The front & back covers are made of cardboard collaged with painted papers. The are attached at the spine with patterned duct tape. The interior pages are a melange of different paper surface designs, sizes & weights. Signatures are handbound with waxed linen. May 25: My journals--some retired, the bottom one with the macaw just today begun. I note some themes: landscapes; trees in winter; mountains; rather empty spaces. Birds. Shibui.
