Please join us for the opening reception of “Enamel on Copper Paintings of Ted DeGrazia”! January 30th, from 5-7pm, at the Gallery in the Sun.
This image is my exam piece which is a Lomography Wall- I presented my wall in a joiner style with the influence of David Hockney, this was thought to connect the school together with my overall theme of encounters, experiences and meeting I felt this brought a wider meaning to the image. All the images in the lomography wall were from around the school and I presented these pictures on one of the brick walls available at school. Whilst I was creating this piece lots of people were really intrigued by it and I felt this brought my whole theme back into it as people uncounted these familiar scenes. I feel it creates a very interesting image and bringing the Hockney presentation back into it creates a geometric images with all the different lines and shapes.
Springer joins the Universe line with this Voyager class redeco, pictured here in helicopter mode. I prefer this mold to the Botcon exclusive vehicle, as I feel the helicopter mode fits better with this old character.
He came with Ratbat in the Target exclusive 'Springer vs Ratbat' set. The comic that came with mine was one of the sets with the incorrect one.

Archbishop Richard Clarke and Bishop Alan Abernethy joined with other leaders in church life and community relations for CMS Ireland’s Crossing Bridges event at Parliament Buildings, Stormont, on Tuesday, 11th October.
The event included a contribution from the Rt Revd Justin Badi, Bishop of Maridi, on how the Episcopal Church in South Sudan is working for peace and reconciliation in the midst of its ongoing civil war. Almost one in four South Sudanese people are refugees while another quarter have been internally displaced and are unable to flee the country; the remainder mainly live in extreme poverty. Bishop Badi explained that the Church is responding in four ways: prayer; providing shelter; advocating on behalf of those who are weak and voiceless; and preaching and teaching the Word of God.
“Prayer might be seen as a weak thing to do,” he remarked, “but prayer is powerful. The Bible says in James that anyone in trouble should pray (James 1.13).” Churches are providing shelter for tens of thousands of people regardless of ethnicity or religion, thus fulfilling the biblical call to practice hospitality. Members of the Mothers’ Union teach respect for human life to husbands and children who are involved in the conflict. He encouraged the Church of Ireland to continue to support South Sudan – through prayer, visits, advocacy for peace, and providing resources for leadership – “so that the people there may know that they are not alone in their situation.”
Connecting
Archbishop Clarke, a patron of CMS Ireland, spoke on ‘connecting’ – one of CMS Ireland’s three themes, alongside equipping and transformation – by drawing on examples shared at the recent Anglican Primates Meeting in Canterbury.
Dr Clarke encouraged delegates to firstly connect with their own practical responsibilities. He highlighted exploitative mining practices in Ghana, deforestation in Kenya and the disappearance of small islands in the South Pacific as consequences of irresponsible consumption in the UK and Ireland.
Connecting with “the other” always involves “walking the second mile” and often without recognition or appreciation: “It’s not just doing what we have to do.” He noted how Christians facing hostility for their faith in Malaysia and Pakistan shared food and provided education and healthcare to their Muslim neighbours.
Finally, peace-making connects with the heart of the Gospel. “Very often we need to remind ourselves that the Cross can never be cheap and never can the Cross be ‘factory-made,’” he affirmed. “At the heart of all peace and reconciliation for all Christian people has to be the Cross.” It meant making “individual, difficult and risky” choices – as Jesus did – and a commitment to continuing for the long haul.
Local lessons
Bishop Abernethy spoke of how he witnessed sectarianism whilst growing up in East Belfast and how his commitment to reconciliation developed through meeting Catholic friends at Queen’s University. From his ministry in North Belfast, as Bishop of Connor, he noted that reconciliation is first and foremost relational; it involves helping people to tell their stories and being a prophetic voice into society: “We need our hearts changed in this country and I believe that the one person who can change that is Jesus.” The grace of God has “absolutely no bounds and no barriers.”
CMS Ireland’s Director, Jenny Smyth, thanked David Ford MLA, who hosted the event, and all speakers who shared their insights, including Mrs Myrtle Kerr (co-founder of the Christian Renewal Centre, Rostrevor) and Pádraig Ó Tuama (Leader of the Corrymeela Community). Mrs Smyth noted that the local Church is best placed to know the specific needs of communities and is often the only remaining institution in countries affected by conflict. Highlighting the construction of the new Freedom Bridge in Juba, South Sudan’s capital, she concluded: “We hope that the connections that we can make as God’s people will be connections that bring freedom.”

Here's a sneak peek at what I've been up to at college.
We had to create advertisements on giving information about smoking, or advice. I chose to look onto the positive side of quitting smoking, by creating a community and ad campaign where quitters can share their joy. A facebook page was set up and a few people got involved, you can too. It would be a great help, even by liking!

Amazon joins the USO in becoming a Force Behind the Forces with advance screening of “Bookaboo’s Howl-o-ween” at Naval Base San Diego.
Amazon treats military families with a special viewing of their upcoming episode and a holiday-themed book reading by Guillermo Diaz of “Turkey Trick or Treat” on October 7th. The tour took place just one week after the USO launched “Force Behind the Forces”.
This is a brand awareness campaign encouraging Americans to stand behind “The Force,” as a community of supporters committed to connecting service members to the things they hold dear.

Dr. Elliot McGucken's Hero's Odyssey Fine Art Landscape Photography! The breaking Malibu mist was epic!
Hero's Odyssey Fine Art Landscape & Nature Photography for Los Angeles Gallery Show !
Will be busy printing and framing in nice large, matted formats and frames and museum glass! Five of these photos will be printed on 40" x 60" floating wall mounted metal sheets! I think I know which--will share photos of the photos hanging on the walls!
And I am mounting some on plexiglass/acryllic--front mounting them! Some I am printing on lossy fuji-crystal archival paper too, and then front mounting 40"x60" versions to plexiglass--will send photos!
The secret to HDR photography is that you want people to say, "Woe dude--that's unreal!" And not, "Dude--that's not real!" "Unreal" is the word they use when they're trying to figure out the photo--what makes it cool--is it a photo? Is it painted? How'd it come to be--how'd you bend the light that way? "That's not real," is what they say if you have the saturation/HDR/ etc. turned up too high. :)
Some (almost) final edits for my Los Angeles Gallery Show! Here's how I do it:
Print: Fuji Crystal Lightjet Metallic front-mounted to 1/4" Acrylic.
Acrylic: 1/4" with regular polished edge
Backing: White aluminum 3mm
Hanging Mechanism: Silver aluminum float box
I'll be using the top-of-the-line, museum-quality gallery format consists of the highest-quality prints on Fujicolor Crystal Archival Paper, front-mounted to UV-resistant protective acrylic, backed by a solid aluminum sheet, and fastened to an aluminum silver frame "float box" for mounting on the wall.
Wish you all could come (and hang out with the goddesses)!
Let me know your favs.!

I escaped from work on Saturday morning and dashed across to Healey House to try and Catch John Myers four motors on their way to join the Meltham War Weekend parade. I got there with a minute to spare, unfortunately, as on a previous occasion, it was difficult to catch the old motors without modern ones stuck between or behind the slow moving wagons. Having got what I could I drove in to Meltham and wandered around taking photos until the parade at 12.30. I ended up staying until 3.00-still in my filthy work clothes. The original plan was to go home and change but I'd got myself a handy parking place and due to my dodgy ankle not lending itself to walking far I decided to stay put. It was very dull until around 1.00 and then someone switched the sun on and it was a glorious afternoon. It certainly seemed to be very busy, it deserved to be as there was an awful lot going on, obviously a lot of hard work behind it so well done to the organisers. I took around 300 shots and I will upload in batches as I have time, at the time of writing (Fri) they are all edited.
