All the Glitterati of Hackney turned up at our studio last night for the an 'invitation only' movie premiere - but sadly most of us didn't even get a look-in.
However today in response to pressure, the Boss decided that it was 'right and proper' to share this new film about the recent Robbo Fund Raising auction at Cargo, London (which took place back in September this year).

Rainforest Action Network activists and volunteers joined over 150 other protesters outside Chevron's annual shareholder meeting on May 25th, 2011 to call on the company to take responsibility for the environmental devastation and human rights abuses it has caused around the world. While delegates from Ecuador, Angola, Nigeria, and Richmond, CA were inside the meeting to take their calls for justice directly to the company, the protest outside made sure that all Chevron management, board members, and shareholders were forced to witness the growing movement to hold the company accountable as they entered the meeting, which was held at Chevron HQ in San Ramon, CA.

Today I joined a railfan trip with the 1960 built diesel dmu 114, owned by the Dutch National Railway Museum. The trip took the participants to the eastern part of our country.
Despite the cold and windy weather, it was a very nice trip. Well organized and dmu 114, the star of the day, looked immaculate.

The title Po-i-Kalyan (also Poi Kalyan), which means "The foot of the Great", belongs to the architectural complex located at the foot of the great Kalyan minaret in Bukhara, Uzbekistan.
The complex is located at historic part of a town. Since 713 several ensembles of main cathedral mosques were built at this area to the south of the Ark citadel. One of these complexes, burnt out by Genghis Khan during the siege of Bukhara, was built in 1121 by the Karakhanid ruler Arslan-khan. The Minaret Kalyan is the only of structures of Arslan-han complex, which was kept safe during that siege.
The architect, whose name was simply Bako, entwined his name (as well as the date of construction and the name of Arslan-Khan) with epigraphic ornaments of the Minaret. Local inhabitants believe that the architect was buried somewhere among houses of the neighboring residential quarter. Bako made a minaret in the form of a circular-pillar brick tower, narrowing upwards, of 9 meters (29.53 ft) diameter at the bottom, 6 meters (19.69 ft) overhead and 45.6 meters (149.61 ft) high. There is a brick spiral staircase that twists up inside around the pillar, leading to the landing in sixteen-arched rotunda - skylight, which based on a magnificent stalactite cornice (sharafa).
Kalyan Mosque (Maedjid-i kalyan), arguably completed in 1514, is equal with Bibi-Khanym Mosque in Samarkand in size. Although they are of the same type of building, they are absolutely different in terms of art of building. The roofing (of 288 domes) of the galleries encircling the courtyard of Kalyan Mosque rests on 208 pillars. The courtyard ends up with a portal to the main chamber with a cruciform hall, topped with a massive blue cupola on a mosaic drum.
There is little known about the Mir-i Arab Madrasah origin. The construction of Mir-i-Arab Madrasah is ascribed to Sheikh Abdullah Yamani of Yemen, the spiritual mentor of early Shaybanids. He disputably was in charge of donations of Abdullah-khan (1512-1533), devoted to construction of religion edifice.

This image is my exam piece which is a Lomography Wall- I presented my wall in a joiner style with the influence of David Hockney, this was thought to connect the school together with my overall theme of encounters, experiences and meeting I felt this brought a wider meaning to the image. All the images in the lomography wall were from around the school and I presented these pictures on one of the brick walls available at school. Whilst I was creating this piece lots of people were really intrigued by it and I felt this brought my whole theme back into it as people uncounted these familiar scenes. I feel it creates a very interesting image and bringing the Hockney presentation back into it creates a geometric images with all the different lines and shapes.
