Secretary Walker joined AmeriHealth Caritas Chair and CEO Paul Tufano on March 29 for the grand opening of AmeriHealth Caritas Delaware’s new community wellness center, a hub of information, education, coordination, nutrition and fitness designed to serve those in need in the Bear area. The center, which is open to AmeriHealth Medicaid clients and non-clients, offers health screenings, fitness and nutrition classes, care management services and assistance with medical appointment scheduling and transportation.
Joining Secretary Walker and Tufano were state Sen. Bryan Townsend, state Rep. Kendra Johnson, AmeriHealth Caritas Delaware Market President Emmilynn Lawson, and Division of Medicaid and Medical Assistance Director Steve Groff and Deputy Director Lisa Zimmerman.
“What we’re doing is broader than just health care,” Tufano said. “It’s a partnership.” He said people who have Medicaid coverage or are impoverished are “made to feel they are not valued.” With this wellness center – and through other outreach opportunities – Tufano said it is AmeriHealth Caritas’ way of saying that people are valued and always welcomed to drop by.
Secretary Walker said that is the essence of what AmeriHealth is doing. “You are helping us to build a stronger and healthier Delaware by meeting people where they are.” As a family physician, she said she knows that 90% of what affects a person’s health has nothing to do with the clinical care she provides. “For the clients who are served at this wellness center – and other clients across the state – their health is impacted by where they live, their housing, their job, their transportation, the safety of their neighborhood, and how close they are to grocery stores, parks or health care providers.”
Sen. Towsend send AmeriHealth’s commitment to Medicaid clients “will give people a chance to live up to their potential.” Rep. Johnson added, “I just see nothing but hope and resources here.”
The wellness center is at 1142 Pulaski Highway (U.S. 40) in the Glendale Shopping Center in Bear. To learn more about AmeriHealth Caritas Delaware and its commitment to its clients:

Every day we see people walking around, heads tilted downward, texting, playing games, and surfing the web on their phones. Given that almost every phone out there has a camera built into it, the question entered my head; “What does the phone ‘see’ while people are walking around?” ‘From a Phone’s iView’ is my exploration into this question.
So in a complete diversion from my usual efforts I got asked by a good friend of mine to photograph his wedding. I wasn't really sure about the whole process, but in the end I got a few good pictures, I think. Also, with some strategic photoshop post-processing I managed to get some really interesting effects. I look forward to any kind of hints or tips from people who do this kind of thing more often than I do though!
Taking the leap and signing up for a 200 hr YTT training program is a huge time, money, and life commitment. A lot of yoga enthusiasts that are ready to embark upon their first yoga teacher training in 2021 have no idea what to look for in a 200 hr YTT program.
In this infographic, Ekattva Yogshala , the top yoga school of Rishikesh, will share 5 things to confirm while joining a 200 hr YTT program in 2021. Below are the 5 points to consider before joining a yoga teacher training course:
Yoga Anatomy: This is a big part of a 200 hr YTT program. All Yoga teachers need to understand the structure of the human body to increase the effectiveness of asanas and protect the body from injuries. Make sure your teacher training program has a strong anatomy section.
Yoga studio experience: It’s important to select a yoga school that is reputable and has vast experience in running YTT certification programs. Make sure the yoga studio you have selected has conducted 40+ 200 hrs YTT batches and could deliver testimonials from students who become yoga teachers from there.
Number of students: Check out how students do your batch hold during the 200 hr YTT course. You will receive more individual attention, thorough feedback, and comprehensive classes in a smaller batch of a 200 hr ytt certification program.
Yoga alliance certified: Another important aspect to check out before joining a 200 hr YTT program. If you want to teach at some point in the future, make sure the yoga school you prefer is certified by Yoga Alliance.
Evaluate course syllabus: Study the curriculum and ask about how many hours are dedicated to each topic if not already defined. Pick a 200 hr YTT program that speaks your language.
Above are some points to look out for before joining a 200 hr YTT program in 2021. Read the whole infographic to learn more about the important aspects.

Mayor Jim Kenney joined City Councilmembers and local community members at a signing event regarding recent bills passed by City Council that will provide substantial relief to homeowners that have been affected by the long-term boom in the real estate market.
This includes an increase in the Homestead Exemption from $45,000 to $80,000, an increase in funding available for the Longtime Owner Occupants Program (LOOP), and changes to the Senior Tax Freeze program, which collectively will increase access to these programs for many low-and mid-income households.

Students who are interested in joining the Baja RaceTeam test drive the Baja race cars on a test race track near Mcity in Ann Arbor.
The Michigan Baja Race team is a student-run competition team housed within the College of Engineering. Every year the team designs and manufactures an entirely new off-road race vehicle from the ground up. Team members work in the Wilson Student Team Project Center to machine parts, fabricate molds and assemble the new car. They use the remainder of the semester to test and tune the car for the upcoming competitions.
Baja SAE is an off-road racecar competition series organized by the Society of Automotive Engineers (SAE). Student teams from over 100 universities compete in multiple dynamic events, such as an endurance race, maneuverability course, sled pull, hill climb, and acceleration event. Day 2:
Because the boat is longer then the boards you must join them using a process called scarfing. Some instructions say to cutt out the panels before scarfing but this being my first time doing this I felt I wanted the boards together before cutting them out.
There are a few different ways to join them, all include epoxy. Butting them & reinforcing them with either bais cutt fiberglass or a scrap of wood are 2 ways or you can plane both edges to match & join them with epoxy & also reinforced with fiberglass.
I chose the later of the three. After planing my 1st set of boards with a planer that was too big and dull I got a sharper & smaller planer from my Dad I touched up my 1st beveling job and proceeded to attempt the other 2 boards. I can't stress enough the need for a quality planer and stone to keep it sharp. The end result was not only narrower then my 1st but it was far cleaner and took a third of the time to do.
