Firstly I was not sure on this, but now I Love It! Lothian 169 looking very smart indeed at Gyle Centre having a break on service 21 before heading back to Royal Infirmary H. 07th March 2017.

Woohoo, SHIPtember: check!

It's been a while, but it was exciting to be back at it demanding 100+ studs of myself. This time in just 11 hours!! But I had a little help... a lot of help actually! This alien ship is a collab between Geneva

and I! She did the brown and I did the black.

It came together with lots of changes along the way, but in the end, to my surprise, it was pretty close to what I expected! Here's a video with a swwoooosh.

I can't go without mentioning the huge inspiration Mihu was, with his Alien Assimilator builds and theme. I did my best to fit the theme while still bringing some fresh aspects to the concept!

Aren't you glad it's not hovering above your city? :) Hope you like it, to God be the glory!

"Well, I’m livin’ in a foreign country but I’m bound to cross the line

Beauty walks a razor’s edge, someday I’ll make it mine" (Bob Dylan - Shelter from the Storm).

I say always the same things, but is that my fault if they are true ? The night between 12th and 13th of February was the coldest of winter. In a lot of place, here in Switzerland, temperature reaches some records of cold. There was no clouds and no wind. So do I have to say that every serious photographer were outside, confronting a -18° C in order to get some crazy pictures ? I was among them. I choose to go around Tête-de-Ran in the Jura Mountains, especially because trees were still charged with snow. I was there at 3.am and I took some nightscapes. But I wanted to show you first this one : it is maybe the craziest sunset I ever seen. And with this one, the Bob Dylan moto " Beauty walks a razor’s edge" is confirmed once again !

All night there was no fog and no clouds. I was at la Vue-des-Alpes when the moon rose over the Alps, and I managed to take nice pictures. However, in less than 2 minutes, a fog came and covered everything. I had taken nice picture during the night, but I was hoping to get a nice sunrise as well. What should I do ? Going down under the fog, or going up upper it ? I choose the second option, which supposed to Climb Tête-de-Ran mountain. It's not that high, but it's quite tricky when its snow covered.

When I arrived at the summit, two other photographers were there : @adrian_wirz_fotografie and @andreas_gerth_photography who I met while shooting Neuchatel's Castle in December. We were all quite disappointed : everything was grey, and we had no hope to get anything satisfactory ... This was before the sun actually started to rise ! Everything turned pink-orange, the fog in the trees downhill looked like fire, it was absolutely fantastic !

I made really few constrast/curves popping in processing, the colors were really like thatl !

I am more and more convinced that the best picture are taken in conditions such as with just a little bit more or a little bit of something (fog, clouds, rain, and so on), they could have been ruined ...

We do not have a cat to own us , but this one pops in to check out the garden sometimes ( too many birds around I think ) .

For sight and sound it has to be this ---

A coyote, coat still wet from its leap into the Firehole River to catch its unwary prey, glares at the onlooker as it puts a death grip on the trumpeter swan it has just drug to the river's snow covered bank.

Now it's in full flow. Down to the smallest detail ...sculpted colour in everything. This one is smaller than a thumbnail.

Day 194 (v 12.0) - and then some

I was telling the gal beside me, we were waiting for our train, that I hadn't known whether I wanted to come downtown that night but thought, what if I take a picture that makes me think, "It was worth the trip"? This is it.

It took me days to reach Sagada, I travelled by bus and jeepney to the far north of the Philippines, to an almost mystical place called Sagada. I stayed in a wooden hut, its was an incredible experience. My aim was to see these hanging coffins, which I explored with some Iranians I had meet, they were pretty awesome, most defiantly worth the trip to see them.

iloveNY round 1. wooop i can't wait to see the whole picture :)

YOUR leaves just HAD to say something to MY leaves about autumn.....now looks what's happened!!!

Backlight with Japanese apricot blossoms in the BG.

After all the sun we've had, these hostas are now soaking up the rain, and going 'slurp slurp slurp' in our garden. I guess that's the main compensation for losing the sunshine! Yay! No watering tonight!! Yay!! Full waterbutts!!! Thanks for the Explore, comments and faves!

it was misty here today, somehow I guess I put that in the pic ;)

How about autumn leaves in your area?

I took an unplanned drive out to Gros Cap the other day to relax and unwind after a busy day at work. Not a lot was happening that evening, weather and lighting wise, but I was okay with that. I did capture this one long exposure for fun while I was out there, as it's been forever since I last put the Lee Big Stopper to work. It felt great getting out, so hopefully this is the first of many evenings out with the camera.

It's been many years since seeing one. Very uncommon visitor here. Spruce Grove Alberta

It's the middle of February, 1979, one of the worst winters Chicago had ever experienced. I'm in the gritty East Side of Chicago, the skies are a dull gray, it's cold, and my camera is loaded with that rotten Ektachrome 400. But nothing is going to stop me from shooting a copy of my favorite EMD switcher, the SW1. At least, the engineer is giving me a nice wave as the Chicago, West Pullman, & Southern 39 crosses the street near the engine terminal.

Was standing in the checkout line at the local grocery yesterday morning. Stuck behind a shopper with a cart-load of items, I passed the time idly scrolling through my texts and emails. Confident that my digital life could be put on hold for a few minutes, I pocketed the phone and took stock of my surroundings. I noticed an elderly woman in an adjacent checkout lane staring at me. I felt a wave of sympathy for her as my eye took in her frail and trembly stature, and the fact that she seemed utterly alone in the world. The tendency in such situations is to avert my gaze and pretend not to have noticed the other person. But instead I looked her straight in the eye, smiled, and said 'good morning'. The effect on her was remarkable; it almost looked as if she had stepped into bright sunshine as she felt the embrace of a friendly greeting. She smiled and returned my greeting. We exchanged brief small talk, and the moment was over. It felt to me as if she hadn't been greeted in 20 years. Perhaps even fallen into that cloak of invisibility that often greets the elderly in their final years. Younger people see them, but don't really notice them. I was once the same way, preoccupied with my own life, and running on a very narrow track. But the rocket sled ride I'm taking into my own golden years has totally altered my perspective. That woman's face lingers in my mind even now.
