Hey there! It's been a while since my last post so here I am.
It has already been a year and a half since I took this photograph, yet I remember that moment perfectly. We returned to the lake several times, hoping to find good lighting conditions, and this attempt was the one that satisfied me the most. Just moments before, we were sheltering from the rain, huddled under the larches, and moments later, we were completely enveloped in fog. A brief stroke of luck allowed me to capture this image.

It could be a spoonful of tea
But one little spoon of your precious love
Is good enough for me

An interesting outfit, to put it mildly. Wonderfully heavy, stiff tiny petticoat that forces the dress out at 90 degrees, frilly satin apron tied tightly, oversized Peter Pan collar to emphasise the face. Not what you would wear to go shopping but still a lovely outfit when you are feeling a little.....kinky.
You say you really know me,
not afraid to show me
what is in your eyes
Tell me about the rumours
Are they only rumours?
Are they only lies?
Falling out of a perfect dream, coming out of the blue.
Is it true?
Is it over?
Did I throw it away?
Was it you?
Did you tell me you would never leave me this way?

It took me three years, but I am beginning to get the hang of this camera. No double exposures, no blank shots, no ripped film, no out-of-focus shots this time.

From the Nevada Northern's winter photo shoot weekend two.
This last weekend I spent two days at the railroad studying and working to pass their safety training. I'm now cleared to start supervised work on train crews. If I stick with it one day it'll be me taking #93 out of the engine house.
It was apparently the world photography day. August 19. I thought I should at least take a new photo on this day. And I thought of going on a long hike, or an adventure trip to a nearby forest preserve. Then I took a bold decision. I walked about a whole half mile across one whole neighborhood, and then caught a glimpse of this gorgeous sunset. I thought it was adventure enough for one day.

Don't let it get away‘
One of those moments when everything just feels so right. Sun, a lovely calm river, yes work to go to but a little respite before it. It’s a beautiful day for sure.

The new TransPennine Express trains are edging a little closer to passenger service with the first set of coaches TP09 having been accepted, the second set TP06 due to be handed over on Wednesday and a third set starting testing this week.
This is the amazing view at 3:22 AM from the top of Fortune Peak in the Central Cascade Mountains of Washington State, USA. The silhouette of Mount Rainier cannot be overlooked. It is head and shoulders, or should I say head and flanks, above everything else in view at a distance of approximately 56 miles (90 kms).
This is a minimally adjusted shot, tweaking only the shadows to show what the camera sensor could see in the shadows between me and Mt. Rainier. What I found incredibly remarkable is how much this view changed on the sensor when I extended the exposure to 10 seconds instead of the 4/5 second for this show. I'll share that 10 second exposure later. It is probably more stunning. Since you have read this far, any guesses what the remarkable change could be?

It has been far too long since I've posted a cat picture and much, much too long since I've had the chance to photograph one. I need more kitties in my life!

It has been observed that some people who are self isolated are spending more time in bed or on the couch to pass the day. Not a good thing to do less physical activity as it reduces the immune system and impairs cognition. Stay active and stay safe!
