Last week was Waterfall Wednesday, so this week, it's all about the wildlife. This beautiful moose cow was photographed at Fishercap Lake in the Many Glacier area of Glacier National Park, Montana. I'd already heard that moose sightings were common at this lake, so I spent different times of day photographing there. It was nice to be able to do this, since my timing was a little poor to visit this national park. The Sprague Fire was raging, and there was so much smoke in the air during that time, I could barely see the mountains for landscape images. So, I'm glad I was able to clearly focus on something else.
Taken with a Canon 1DX and a 100-400mm lens.

Ready for a beachwalk?
This one is exactly the beach, Leonardo was for his movie “the beach”.
One of the most visited places in thailand, before the tsunami
After it, the people stayed away of Phi Phi island, which was damaged very much from the monster wave.
The name of the island means ghost island, and more then ever it is one.
But he, don´t be afraid and please go there, the natives have only the tourists making money
And a day in paradise?
Why not there
Hope you have all a wonderful time without me
Put on the sunglasses and …………
sorry guys
I am away

Excerpt from winnie-the-pooh.bib.bz:
“You seem so sad, Eeyore.” “Sad? Why should I be sad? It's my birthday. The happiest day of the year.” “Your birthday?” said Pooh in great surprise. “Of course it is. Can't you see? Look at all the presents I have had.” He waved a foot from side to side. “Look at the birthday cake. Candles and pink sugar.” Pooh looked—first to the right and then to the left. “Presents?” said Pooh. “Birthday cake?” said Pooh. “Where?” “Can't you see them?” “No,” said Pooh. “Neither can I,” said Eeyore. “Joke,” he explained. “Ha ha!” Pooh scratched his head, being a little puzzled by all this. “But is it really your birthday?” he asked. “It is.” “Oh! Well, Many happy returns of the day, Eeyore.” “And many happy returns to you, Pooh Bear.” “But it isn't my birthday.” “No, it's mine.” “But you said 'Many happy returns'—” “Well, why not? You don't always want to be miserable on my birthday, do you?” “Oh, I see,” said Pooh. “It's bad enough.” said Eeyore. almost breaking down “being miserable myself, what with no presents and no cake and no candles, and no proper notice taken of me at all, but if everybody else is going to be miserable too—”

Friday's Food for Thought
Let's face it.... life right now is very tough and it seem to be getting harder everyday. If you are waiting for someone to rescue you in these times you will be waiting for a long time. We all want to live on easy street but getting there is not a smooth ride. I learned a long time ago that anything worth having is hard work. You will find you will have to do work in areas you don't like but if it will get you closer to your dreams you have to swallow your pride and do it! Yes you will have to deal with people you just don't agree with but if it will get you closer to your destiny then get along with them!
When I was growing up I had my plans in life all laid out and it all fell apart. I was frustrated and wanted to throw in the towel. But I remember my mom telling me this, "Son, do what you have to do in order to get where you want to be!" Everyday I live by this. Yes you are right to feel it is not right you have to struggle but sitting around complaining and doing nothing is not going to get you closer. Get in there, do the hard or boring tasks, and you will find you will come out on top.

It looks fun to bike along Tessajara Ridge as the slopes just go up and down along the trail. I need to bring my bike here next time.
It's all about Halloween! Me and my students have been in the Halloween mood for a week and sharing of candies has become a ritual to start or end a class! One of my students shared with me the LEGO Gummy Bear! Surprised and amused! Kids! You never get bored with them!

It has been a very dull few days so I went to my archives and picked one from there.
I hope that everyone had a nice weekend and wishing you all a wonderful week as we look forward to the New Year!
Thank you so much for the visits and kind comments!
well, as usual, like this lovely Hairy shieldbug, I got wet during my lunchtime wander!

On holiday next week so will catch up with everyone's uploads on my return 28.09!! :-)
Two young Spoonbills, with the pink beaks are begging for food by one of the parents (yellow beak).
First of all the young ones follow the parent for ages making a strange kind of whistling noises, finally he or she will give in.
That's the moment when the chick will stick its beak inside the adult's beak to get to the food, the adult will regurgitate whatever is in there to make the chick happy.
It always amazes me how far the chick will stick it beak inside the adults beak to get to the food, looks kind of painful to me.
It was such a rainy and grey day here in Dazzledorf... therefore I needed some sunny golden memories...

A Game of Thrones Dragon
It’s my opinion that a Southern Railway EMD SD45—running full tilt, long hood forward (as its owner dictated)—was one of the more hair-raising apparitions I remember from my short time working for the railroad in 1970 and 72. If we were inspecting track and had to “put off” to give up the track segment to allow one of the frequent CNO&TP hotshot freights to pass, I would look down the track anticipating the headlight of the approaching train. If one of the 3600 “hammerhead” units were on the point, I would reflexively take three or four more steps back from the track. It was the very vision of a Game of Thrones dragon coming for me in a blaze of “dragon fire.” When the motive power passed at what seemed like 70 MPH (but was usually no more than 60), the machine gun blast of the car trucks hammering across the siding turnout’s frog and joints made conversation impossible. The steel bay window caboose would finally pass, and you keyed the radio to let the crew knew they were “all back” at wherever we might be. The vision of that SD45 closing on your location at high speed would linger, though.
The 70 units of this model on Southern’s roster were added in 1967 and 1970. They didn’t last long into the Norfolk Southern era, however, as all were off the roster in 1986 and 87—sold or scrapped. I suspect a few of them might still exist, but the ones that had second lives were largely rebuilt to SD40-2 specs.
Two favorite images of these beasts are shown here. No. 3155’s front end was photographed on May 27, 1985, at Andover, Va. On April 7th of that same year, No. 3113 was leading the westbound Belmont unit train empties at Tito. At the time, this was still the siding name for a track that was lengthened the following year when CTC was installed. “Tito” survived as the name for the control point on the east end, while the west end became “Jasper,” the name of the community. In the steam era, the siding had been variously named “Tito Siding,” or “Tito Tank.” There was a train order office at the east end of the old siding for a long time.
Of all the second generation units I remember from the late 60s and 70s, Southern’s SD45s were easily the most imposing. An L&N Alco C628 also got high marks, but the big EMDs were more terrifying as they came at you.
Thank you all for your comments and faves!

We were lucky to receive a gift from Mother Nature. It has warmed up quite nicely so we've decided to drag our boys to Elk Island with us. It has been quite some time since they have visited (we've taken them so often before, that for a while they just didn't want to hear about coming here..). And as a bonus we have gotten an opportunity to shoot some lovely sunset colored sky.. What fun! ;D

I had a bit of a photography block the last couple of days and with yesterdays photo it felt like I blew off the dust of my idea book and just started shooting again!
It's gonna be a very busy week so I'm not sure how creative this week will be, but on friday my holiday finally starts!
So hang in there :)

My Thanks to all who visit and comment it is appreciated.
It's kind of crazy that there are two small waterfall features in a NW Arkansas suburb that are pretty easy to access. Shooting ultra-wide has always been challenging for me, so this shot is a step in remedying that and getting better at it!

It's sunflower season in @sqcountry, and we couldn't resist sharing another photo of these stunning fields of gold 🌻 @swaller4 recently took a trip out to Nobby, which is a historic little nook around two hours' drive from @queensland's capital, @visitbrisbane. Nobby is not only worth a visit for its spectacular seasonal sunflower displays, but also for its local pub where apparently the steaks are as big as the plates they're served on.
