We were lucky to receive a gift from Mother Nature. It has warmed up quite nicely so we've decided to drag our boys to Elk Island with us. It has been quite some time since they have visited (we've taken them so often before, that for a while they just didn't want to hear about coming here..). And as a bonus we have gotten an opportunity to shoot some lovely sunset colored sky.. What fun! ;D

Well it's got to be an improvement on living in a box under a herb garden . Once Fifi finds my lap to sit on, she moves upwards (by clawing) and remains under my chin trying to hypnotize me. Fortunately I am a very busy person and have little time for this to happen.

I had a bit of a photography block the last couple of days and with yesterdays photo it felt like I blew off the dust of my idea book and just started shooting again!

It's gonna be a very busy week so I'm not sure how creative this week will be, but on friday my holiday finally starts!

So hang in there :)

I just made the bus before the weather broke and by the time I got off the bus the sun was shining!!!!

Ramsgate

My Thanks to all who visit and comment it is appreciated.

Just some bits and pieces I spotted on the beach at Hellnar.

I have also walked up this hill, and its a killer, it goes on and on up and up, it needs a cafe at the top.

The sun fell fast as we watched the waves crash against the lighthouse in the distance. The sea lions barked at the bottom of the cliff below. Seagulls danced in the sky as if they also appreciated the beauty and color of the sunset. I took this photo, then kissed her lips. It was breath taking...

... the Allen Lambert Galleria at Brookfield Place, Toronto. This "crystal cathedral of commerce" as some call it, a six storey atrium the length of a city block, was designed by Spanish architect Santiago Calatrava.

Bought the shirt at Costco, and my wife folded it upside down on the shelf in my closet.

Thanks for all your faves and comments everyone!

La stavkirke d’Uvdal est une « église en bois debout » érigée peu après 1168. L'église a ensuite été agrandie au fil des siècles.

The Uvdal stave churches is a church built shortly after 1168. The church was then expanded over the centuries.

There was a rock cut that you could climb on a couple miles south of Searchmont that I often felt would produce a decent shot. The only trouble was it was brushed in pretty bad with some fair sized trees. After the WC assigned the F's to the passenger trains out of Sault Ste. Marie I started brushing this place out in my spare time, Finally I'd done all I could and there were still a couple trees that had to go. On my next visit I packed the chainsaw and finished things off. Here is the result of my work as 1752 and 1751 drop down hill with train 1 on June 17, 1996.

Under overcast skies on an unseasonably warm early November morning, this year's Rockefeller Center Christmas Tree arrived.

Here it's just been lifted off the flatbed truck that brought it in from Gardiner, NY. This year's tree, a 10-ton, 78-foot Norway Spruce, was donated by Albert Asendorf and Nancy Puchalski.

With hundreds of onlookers excitedly watching, it was craned into position where it will live into the New Year delighting millions through the holiday season.

The tree will be lit on December 2 and stay up in Rockefeller Plaza until January 6. Let the most wonderful time of the year begin!

While I am a fan of EMD especially in the mountains when the SP received this AC4400Ws I really liked they way they looked and it was nice to see new power on the SP. It seemed you could find them every where along the Rio Grande. Seen here at Belden climbing famed Tennessee Pass with coal for the Midwest. June 1995

Well it would be close to what I would wear if I was going to work as me.

Spent the evening trying on target dresses. you know the ones. we keep them hoping to either A get back into them after putting on a few pound or we brought them and they were lets say the wrong cut!!!!! OK too small lol.

Well good news my Topshop size 16 dress now does up without a major fight. not bad for a Topshop frock as they tend to be small across the shoulders. And my Lipsy disco diva (do they still call them discos?) dress is also wearable now so that might get a showing sometime soon.

So not bad all in all :-)

At least that's what I imagine this little crocus is saying.

Apologies for being behind after a busy weekend, look forward to catching up now.

This is a cropped version of my previous post.

Trying to keep it simple this week - quick doodle in pencil, scan and a little dab of photoshop for good measure. I'm quite liking 'em.

Being your own boss and company owner has its perks...you can stop and set up a camera and a tripod when a fabulous storm settles right on top of your location. I set up my tripod and started setting the exposure. This photo is a bit soft, not because I moved the tripod, but this bolt of lightning was so close that when it hit it actually shook the ground just enough to bump the tripod!!

Now that's electrifying!

A panorama I made today of Lancing college whilst it was covered in fog with the sun bursting through

I'm not completely dead. Pasta (and her human) were the only ones that noticed I had dropped out for a couple of days.

Anywho (BenKitty hates when I say "anywho", so that's why I say it) - feeling better today. I'll wander by your streams tonight.

I'm sure you're all excited now.

Might need a few trips tp B&Q, but I could live there....

In some cases I would be inclined to remove the person from the background, but in this case I thought it added to the story. A caption is perhaps "Time to run, I've been spotted." Anyway, here it is.

It's always a treat to get close to shorebirds, and I was thrilled when this one gave a perfect head turn and called right in front of me. D500 300 PF 1/2000 f/4 ISO 2000.
