Inside the Daiden (the great hall) of the Buddhist temple Zōjō-ji in Tokyo.
The bowls in the lower left corner is for burning incense.
And the shot is not a monochrome version. It really looks like this.
The Buddhist temple Zōjō-ji was founded by Yūyo Shōsō in the 14th century - at another place but it was moved here in 1590 and during the Edo period it was one of the two family temples of the Tokugawa family (the other being Kan'ei-ji). The area was badly damaged in the second world war and later rebuilt (except its big gate, which survived). The Daiden actually dates to 1974, and despite its old looks, it is mainly made out of concrete. The temple is the main temple of the Chinzei branch of Jōdo-shū Buddhism.
HDR from 3 different exposures (handheld). Tone mapping in Photomatix and little adjustment in PS 7. No crop.

Stairwell inside the Deutscher Dom (German Cathedral), Berlin, Germany. It sits as part of a three building 'trinity' in the Gendarmenmarkt square in Mitte including its twin the Französische Dom (French Cathedral) and the Konzerthaus (Concert Hall).
It is no longer a place of worship as no religious services are held here and so its now more of a museum.
Nothing fancy here; just straight out of camera. The lights are a bit annoying but did not want to crop it so have left them in.
Jeez - could it be any more miserable today. I want some sunshine!! :-)

HDR creative photography by Timothy Selvage of stain glass windows at Coventry Cathedral, UK.
I'd seen a few people photogrph this Cathedral window and was always impressed with the images. When I stood there infront of this window in person I was amazed. The building is so tall it feels as if the windows stretch out to infinity.
I was a little late getting to the Cathedral so the light levels were a little low and shining through the western windows and this window faces east :-( A good reason to return again. Nevertheless, there was enough light to see the deliscious tones tones that form a circular burst of colour in the middle.
I've processed the walls as b&w to accentuate the soft colours. It also reflected how I sometimes feel (cold and b&w on the inside but with a soft radiant colour shining through - that's my wife's light - and I thank her for it xx).
You can also find me on Facebook and G+ so let's hook up and exchange. I also post my camera settings and processing techniques there.
For those of you that didn't get enough Christmas candy!!!

While we were in Atlantic City I only stopped a few times to shoot... Didn't wanna hold everyone else up. This statue was outside a restaurant/martini bar called Red Square. I liked the way it looked... Kind of reminded me of the upcoming Mummy movie: The Mummy: Tomb of the Dragon Emperor.
I am trying to make my rounds... I hope to be able to peruse around Flickr this week for a while!! *fingers crossed*

Ezekiel 22:21-22 “Indeed, I'm going to gather you together and exhale the fire of my fury, and then you'll be melted from the inside out like melting silver at the center of a furnace. When you've been melted from the center out, then you'll know that I am the LORD. I'll pour out my anger on you.”

This is the inside of the Pantheon in Paris. The building is over going a huge makeover and most of the rooms very too bust to photograph so I didn't get many pictures from here but I did find this room with this cool ceiling.

where no one sees you,
but sometimes I do, and that
sight becomes this art.”

In Norse mythology, a jötunn or, in the normalised scholarly spelling of Old Norse, jǫtunn is a type of entity contrasted with gods and other figures, such as dwarfs and elves. The entities are themselves ambiguously defined, variously referred to by several other terms, including risi, thurs and troll.
Although the term giant is sometimes used to gloss the word jötunn and its apparent synonyms in some translations and academic texts, jötnar are not necessarily notably large and may be described as exceedingly beautiful or as alarmingly grotesque.
Some deities, such as Skaði and Gerðr, are themselves described as jötnar, and various well-attested deities, such as Odin, are descendants of the jötnar.
Norse myth traces the origin of the jötnar to the proto-being Ymir, a result of growth or sexless reproduction from the entity's body. Ymir is later killed, his body dismembered to create the world, and the jötnar survive this event by way of sailing through a flood of Ymir's blood. The jötnar dwell in Jötunheimr. In later Scandinavian folklore, the ambiguity surrounding the entities gives way to negative portrayals. wikipedia
