Ink & gouache on $teinbach paper
Over a year ago when we were confined to avoid spreading a potentially deadly virus, I knew much of my photographic adventures would need to be curtailed. In similar time, something by Stephan Marjoram inspired me to fill a bit of time doing something creative. So I took up ink drawing. Just to see what I could do. And with zero photography projects in the queue, I wanted to fill this space with something. So here goes. I start out by aping M.Marjoram and, as you will later see, I take inspiration from many other sources.

Location: Home
Note: Happily playing in the Stillman & Birn Alpha sketchbook, which, holds up wonderfully to light washes, as I explore how the Platinum carbon ink handles this paper & reacts with (under & over) other materials. All I could think of, besides loving this paper, is the need to invest in some superior Faber-Castell watercolour pencils...

..it's really had to describe this grey ink other than saying it's like J Herbin's Stormy Grey without the gold flecks. I like this grey a lot. Very warm.

"You'd think that people would have had enought of silly love songs.
But I look around me and I see it isn't so.
Some people wanna fill the world with silly love songs.
And what's wrong with that?
I'd like to know, 'cause here I go again..."
(Paul McCartney lyrics, 1976)
