I did this Scottish Castle for my late Uncle Buck (real name Aubrey Buchan) in about 1975 and his daughters asked me if I would like it back. Apparently he prized it and had it beautifully framed, Loathe to take it out of the frame, I have used my digital camera instead of scanning. This one shows Glamis Casle, home of Earl and Countess Strathmore. Rotring rapidograph on cartridge paper, 1600 x 1200mm. I don't remember what I used for reference, but I think it was one of those colour calendars.

We had a well attended Mothers' Day concert of the Townsmen Barbershop Chorus today. I designed the program cover using my grand daughter, Kate, a flower arrangement from a friend's photo in Niagara-on-the-Lake, and my wife's hands. It was done in ink on paper. Happy mothers' Day to all you moms out there.

Training myself to draw has been an interesting exercise. I studied the workds of Nicolas de Crecy, the Rat Rod artists, Stephan Marjoram, R.Crumb, S.Clay Wilson and many others. While I certainly will never develop the kind of talent they had, this has been a good way to "kill time" during the various periods of lockdown here in France during the Covid Pandemic.
