A new tradition maybe, although the large crowds could be a deterrent in future years... the night Colette, Eric, and I went though, it wasn't too bad. I had been the weekend prior with my mom and my sister, but Colette had not gotten the opportunity to really run and around and play. So, Eric and I took her back, this time giving her a bit more freedom to run about and enjoy herself. It was an awesome night. This was when the temperatures were still just right and before we had started to busy ourselves with housework. Now that we've moved into our house, we've hardly had time to edit pictures, let alone snap 'em. Hopefully, that will start to change in the upcoming weeks. Happy belated Halloween, everyone!

City Trail Hare - Futurist-Hare shows us a vision of future Norwich! On the outside Rebecca Pymar shows us how we could mix the old and the new and how this could look (urban farming, a greener city, new ways of travelling). On the inside of Futurist-Hare, Lanpro provide an abstract glimpse of the hidden world of information, technology and data which will help connect people, transport, spaces and culture in future Norwich.
Observation Tower/Homestead
Opening in future development will be an interpretive area focusing on the history of the Indian Camp Creek Park site. Near the fishing pond, park goers can view the Cannon family cemetery, with headstones dating to the early 19th Century. In the "back loop" of the park, guests will be able to climb to the top of the former grain silo for an overlook of the surrounding countryside. An interpretive area near the observation tower will showcase the original homestead believed to have been built in the late 1800s, with a “ghost structure” of the original log cabin.
11 March 2010 (but taken after midnight but hopefully you will forgive me) Today I learned 3 things:
1) In future I must keep my mouth firmly shut because seemingly innocent things can be misconstrued and used against you
2) You cannot always expect everyone to behave in a thoughtful and honourable way
3) I hate office politics
My lesson is well and truly learnt. A little bit of my innocence was lost today. :-( I am sad and disappointed.
I guess every day is a school day.
Been growing this variety for several years now. Nothing specific I can find says but I think the variegation came from Bambusa textilis striata. It makes some branches from top to bottom but not overly branchy. At least one bottom internode always seems to spit in the bigger culms but so far has been no issue. So far very easy to manage. Much easier than some of my other bamboos. 9 hours at 25 degrees damaged it but didn't kill it back. I decided to start keeping some lower branching in case it can help protect it in future freezes. For me gets 3 inches and a tad over 40 feet.

On 18–19 September, Europe’s space industry from start-up companies to large system integrators gathered at ESA–ESTEC in the Netherlands for Industry Space Days 2024.
This is a key event for most companies involved in space in Europe, they gain insights into ESA’s near and long-term activities and procurement needs. Thousands of one-on-one prescheduled meetings between companies will have marked the start of useful business collaborations and increased their chances in future ESA procurements and commercial activities.
An exhibition hall with 170 stands was a valuable way for companies to discover, discuss or showcase technologies and make useful contacts.
There were more than 2000 registered participants representing 1100 companies from 42 countries at ISD 2024. For many of these companies, this event is an essential part of their business strategy.

I started decorating with only a vague idea of wanting to do dotted scrolls, similar to the ones on the side of this cake.
I scratched some guidelines into the icing using a toothpick. This resulted in terrible curves, as the toothpick was not a good tool. Then I got worse curves when I decided to try some solid lined scrollwork. The whole thing was such a disheartening mess that I wasn't sure if I should just scrape it all off and start over. I figured I should photograph my mistake before making that decision. I ultimately decided to try and cover the mistakes instead.
In future, I will draw out a design on paper before I start on the cake. Improvised cake decorating is not always advisable. Lesson learned.

The Center (Hangzhou Water Treatment Technology Development Center Co) won the Seawater Desalination Project for 1st Phase Xudabao Nuclear Power Plant, Liaoning Province.
Experiencing collaboration for nearly two months, the Center won the Seawater Desalination Project for 1st Phase Xudabao Nuclear Power Plant from many competitors; it not only is a ratification to the Center’s ability in the field of seawater desalination for nuclear power plant, but lay the Center’s market position of seawater desalination for nuclear power plant.
At present, there are only four seawater desalination project for nuclear power plant domestically, among them, the projects the Center has participated in and implemented include the seawater desalination system for Liaoning Hongyanhe Nuclear Power Plant, the seawater desalination system for Shangdong Haiyang Nuclear Power Plant, and the seawater desalination project for Xudabao Nuclear Power Plant just won. It marks that the Center has occupied 3/4 absolute superiority in seawater desalination for nuclear power plant domestically, laying solid foundation for the seawater desalination market for nuclear power plant in future.
