The Likes of Endaf Owens was Also Prepared after an Engine Failure During Yesterdays Race Which Many thought would put him out of Contention for Today..........However With Some Incredible Overnight Work by Him and His Fellow Mechanics as well as a Late Night Trip to Wales and Back to Pick Up a Spare Engine, Endaf and His Dedicated Team Have Managed to Get his Car Ready for Race 2. As The Light Fell away from the Circuit The Britcar Endurance Championship made its way out onto the circuit with Lights a Blaze and a lot of Energy coming from both the Drivers and their Cars This was Going to be a Race of Endurance and Car Management thought the 45 Minutes of the Race.

85 minute running time... is this the first time Diane Keaton appeared in a Woody Allen movie? She is at peak of her attractiveness here at age 25, despite her goofy outfits. There are some funny bits, but I didn't enjoy this one as much as Bananas. Interesting that Woody continued Tony Roberts phone gag in future movies.

This little lady has been steadily crawling up the interestingness ranks. She debuted somewhere in the 100s and I first "scouted" her at 99. Recently she entered the top 10.
Now if you'll allow me a little petulant indulgence, all this is despite a lacklustre result in the Score Me! group. My main reason for posting to Score Me! is to get constructive criticism that I can use to improve my photographic skills. It is disappointing when someone gives a 5.5/10 score, saying only "overexposed". It's particularly annoying when you check the individual's photostream and find that he is a professional who clearly knows a thing or two about exposure. Would it have killed him to offer a few pearls of wisdom to a poor hack like myself?
Don't get me wrong, I know what he's saying and respect his opinion, but it was a difficult scene in which I had no control over the lighting. I thought I'd got the balance right, but I'm prepared to accept that I got it wrong. However, "overexposed" isn't going to help me get a better shot in future situations like this.
Anyway, I like it and it's nice to know other people find it interesting :)

I try to find ways of closing my cars on screws, not glue, so there would be a reasonable way of opening them up for repairs and updates in future. For this one, I had to install special styrene studs and a couple of braces on the underbody.
Over the winter period I will be converting the engine in my much loved Volkswagen Caddy. I will regularly be posting photos purely to look back on in future and for others to see
Local cardiologist Dr. Steven Lome saved the lives of two runners who each suffered cardiac arrests during the Monterey Bay Half Marathon in November 2022. For his heroic and lifesaving actions, he received the Red Cross Certificate of Extraordinary Personal Action in a ceremony at the Community Hospital of the Monterey Peninsula on November 10, 2023.
Dr. Lome was running the Monterey Bay Half Marathon with two of his children, both cross country runners at Carmel schools, when he saw a man collapse about 30 feet in front of him at mile three. He stopped to help the runner, Greg Gonzalez, 67, a superior court judge from Vancouver, Wash., who was unconscious, not breathing and did not have a pulse. Dr. Lome immediately began CPR while two other medical providers nearby - including a neurosurgeon - stopped to help. Their collective efforts sustained Gonzales’s life until an ambulance arrived.
After this initial incident, Dr. Lome decided to continue the race, hoping to still catch up with his two children. Before crossing the finish line, he noticed that another runner, Michael Heilemann, 56, from Marin County, Calif., was down, and people were screaming for help. Dr. Lome began CPR on Heilemann while volunteer medical providers brought an AED from the nearby Community Hospital medical tent. They all worked together to keep Heilemann alive, and a few minutes later, he regained consciousness.
Dr. Lome visited Gonzalez and Heilemann the next day at Community Hospital of the Monterey Peninsula and both were recovering well. The two patients and Dr. Lome are returning to run the Monterey Bay Half Marathon together on November 12, one year after the two cardiac arrests occurred on the course.
“The Certificate of Extraordinary Personal Action is given to individuals who step up in an emergency situation and help save or sustain a life,” said Michele Averill, CEO for the Red Cross Central Coast Chapter.
“Dr. Lome’s actions demonstrated a high level of professionalism and dedication. He reminds us that there are people with the vocation of saving lives. We are proud of having him as a Central Coast resident and we wish him, Greg Gonzales and Michel Heilemann the best of luck in future marathons.”

Stoke Edith church is something quite special, an unusual mix of the tower and spire of the 14th century building and the main body a mid 18th century replacement. The spire is a landmark (visible to me on numerous journeys to the area by rail) made all the more distinctive by its truncated top, giving it the appearance of a huge obelisk arising from the medieval tower. The village itself is tiny and consists of a few houses around the road leading up to the church, which nestles semi-hidden within a secluded leafy enclosure of its own.
On approaching all the visitor sees is the medieval steeple standing proud over the trees, and could be forgiven for thinking another complete medieval church lies in wait. Only at the churchyard does one see that the nave has been rebuilt in Georgian Baroque, replaced by the local Foley family in 1740. This is a fairly compact churchyard and the building likewise isn't particularly long, the shallow chancel being more or less continuous with the nave.
Entry is via the south door and reveals a delightfully light interior, the cream-washed nave with its flat plaster ceiling leading to a shallow chancel area, separated by a pair of columns and defined by its lower lighting, decorative paintwork and Foley monuments, giving it the feel of a family mausoleum. The east window has Victorian glass which makes this space rather gloomy for the sake of adding a bit of colour. At the west end however is a relic of the medieval church, the alabaster effigy of a 15th century noblewoman lying next to the font (itself an oddly precarious-looking thing with a marble bowl and a later wrought iron stem).
This is a very handsome and memorable building, thus I was keen to revisit in 2021 to upgrade my photos (from two previous visits in 2010 with my old camera and sans tripod, thus requiring some improvement). I was disappointed to find it locked this time with a notice on the door suggesting this was because of Covid measures (not the first incident of this I'd encountered that day in this normally visitor friendly area). So sadly I had to forget about new internal shots and hope for better luck another time.
However I have since seen several online articles bemoaning the poor state of the church and suggesting it had been closed for safety. It looked in reasonable order to me back in 2010 aside from some water ingress in the chancel area that was affecting the paintwork, but that was over a decade ago so the situation may have worsened considerably since.
Earlier this year it was announced that the church is to formally close for worship and be sold to the Foley family as their private chapel and mausoleum. This is good news in that it secures the building's future, though the implications are sadly that visitor access will be extremely limited in future. I am thus all the more frustrated that I was unable to get back inside one last time on my most recent visit, so will have to make do with my old photos of the interior.

First Up onto the Circuit was The Intermarque Silhouettes and Thease Machines are Very Quick and Built to be as Light Weight as Possible by Using a Space Frame Chassis and a Fibreglass Body.

The Mini's were Up Next and After Some Incredible Racing Yesterday which Saw the Likes of Rupert Deeth Take 1st with Scott Kendall 2nd and Colin Peacock 3rd it was Going to be an Intense Battle at the Front of the Field.
The Likes of Endaf Owens was Also Prepared after an Engine Failure During Yesterdays Race Which Many thought would put him out of Contention for Today..........However With Some Incredible Overnight Work by Him and His Fellow Mechanics as well as a Late Night Trip to Wales and Back to Pick Up a Spare Engine, Endaf and His Dedicated Team Have Managed to Get his Car Ready for Race 2. Truly a Phenomenal Achievement. Lets Hope for Better Luck this Time.

As The Light Fell away from the Circuit The Britcar Endurance Championship made its way out onto the circuit with Lights a Blaze and a lot of Energy coming from both the Drivers and their Cars This was Going to be a Race of Endurance and Car Management thought the 45 Minutes of the Race.
