This little chick was staying close to his mom. His sibling was predated the day before unfortunately. Hoping for the best for this little one. On the water yesterday I saw 8 Common Loons, 1 on the nest and 3 chicks.

Cette image a subit un recadrage de 45% afin de bien mettre l'emphase sur ce nourrissement où le parent donne une belle grosse larve de libellule à son petit. Nous avons été témoin de beaucoup de ces scènes pendant cette session de trois heures, toujours assez difficile à capter de par la vitesse du geste et de de part l'angle de vue. À notre connaissance, il n'y a pas eu de pêche de petits poissons ou de menés, pourtant bien abondant dans ce lac ensemencé. Les proies étaient toujours des insectes, particulièrement des larves de toutes sortes, abondantes en cette période de l'été.

Fait beau on loue un kayak pour l'avant-midi au lac Stukely, on a observer trois huards, une belle matinée
A l'étang aux Cerises il y avait une petite famille, deux bébés, par contre trop de vent pour la photo, et après quatre heures passer sur le lac Stukely, j'en avais assez, un autre fois les bébés lolllll
neben dem "Hoch"blick zu den südlichen Garler Bergen bei dieser klaren Herbstsicht und inzwischen hat das Nebelmeer die Sicht frei gegeben auf die wunderbar gefärbten Herbstbäume.

In the vicinity of Prüm, a small town in the north-western Rhineland-Palatinate, not far from Belgium, spring always starts a few weeks later because of the altitude than in the rest of the state.
The area is very rural and originally marked. You can walk for hours alone on the road and see neither houses nor wind turbines or power lines, a beautiful area to "swim" in nature.
In der Umgebung von Prüm, einer Kleinstadt im nordwestlichen Rheinland-Pfalz, nicht weit von Belgien entfernt, beginnt der Frühling wegen der Höhenlage immer einige Wochen später als im übrigen Teil des Bundeslandes.
Die Gegend ist sehr ländlich und ursprünglich geprägt. Man ist unter Umständen stundenlang allein unterwegs und sieht weder Häuser noch Windräder oder Stromleitungen, eine herrliche Gegend um in der Natur zu "baden".

I originally come from Ontario, loons abound there! Its one of the things I associate with Northern Ontario and the cottage. I didn't realize how much I would miss seeing these birds once I moved to Alberta. So, when I heard there were a few hanging out in Calgary, I jumped on it. I was thrilled to get these shots, and although some may not be perfect, I'm pretty happy with them! I couldn't decide which ones to post!

Die Hanse Sail ist immer ein Event für Liebhaber "alter" Segelschiffe, dem entsprechend ist in Rostock und Warnemünde immer etwas los. Das Foto wurde bei einer abendlichen Begleitfahrt für die AIDAbella geschossen.

La maîtresse des lieux...
Cette image, captée quelques minutes avant celle que je vous ai présenté hier, tout juste avant que les petits grimpent sur le dos de la mère, bénéficiait d'une meilleure lumière de part la proximité que j'ai obtenue avec celle-ci et son plus vieux. Ce couple, comme c'est souvent le cas, occupe seul de leur espèce ce petit lac, dominant ce dernier de leur royale présence...

Der Wetterbericht ist vielversprechend, also: Rauf auf den Berg !!
Leider verspricht der Wetterbericht wie so oft Regen und Wind, aber egal, ich habe ausreichend Zeit, eine sehr gute Ausrüstung und am Berg komme ich mit allen Bedingungen zurecht. Mein Ziel: der Tindtinden, 490 m hoch über Å gelegen. Ja richtig gelesen, dieser südlichste mit dem Auto erreichbare Ort der Lofoten hat nur 1 Buchstaben.
Auf halbem Wege treffe ich 2 junge Franzosen. Halbwegs fit, aber schlecht ausgerüstet und am Berg eher unerfahren. Normalerweise gehe ich immer alleine am Berg, aber aufgrund ihrer Unerfahrenheit und der nicht leichten Bedingungen an diesem Berg denke ich mir ist es vielleicht vernünftig, wenn ich die beiden Jungs nicht alleine da raufsteigen lasse und begleite sie. Es war eine lustige Wanderung bis rauf zum Gipfel. Ein paar letzte Bilder und es beginnt kräftig zu regnen (sieht man gut auf dem Bild). Der Abstieg über rutschige Felsabschnitte und steile, feuchte Wiesen war selbst für mich nicht einfach. Die Jungs mit ihren Turnschuhen haben sich öfters „hingelegt“. Der eine stürzte beim Versuch über glitschige Felsblöcke zu balancieren heftig, konnte dann aber nach ein paar Minuten wieder selbständig weitergehen. Nun ja, wir haben’s dann klatschnass aber ohne größere Blessuren wieder hinunter bis zum Parkplatz geschafft. Schön war’s, wie immer, irgendwie trotzdem.

The weather forecast is promising, so: Up the mountain!!
Unfortunately, as so often, the weather forecast promises rain and wind, but no matter, I have enough time, very good equipment and can cope with all conditions on the mountain. My goal: Tindtinden, 490 m above Ã…. Yes, you read that right, this southernmost place in the Lofoten Islands that can be reached by car only has one letter.
Halfway up I meet two young Frenchmen. They are reasonably fit, but poorly equipped and rather inexperienced on the mountain. I usually go up the mountain alone, but due to their inexperience and the difficult conditions on this mountain, I think it might be sensible not to let the two boys climb up alone and accompany them. It was a fun hike up to the summit. A few last pictures and it starts to rain heavily (you can see it clearly in the picture). The descent over slippery rock sections and steep, wet meadows was not easy even for me. The boys in their sneakers often "fell down". One of them fell heavily while trying to balance on slippery rocks, but was able to carry on walking on his own after a few minutes. Well, we made it back down to the parking lot, soaking wet but without any major injuries. It was nice, as always, somehow, anyway.

Parc national de la Mauricie, Qc
Avant d'aller a Magog, nous avions étés en Mauricie, sur un lac il y avait un couple de huard avec un bébé, il n'y avait pas de location d'embarcation a ce lac, et l'on observais le petit de loin, ca commençais a m'agacé de voir les huards de loin, après avoir été a Magog, on retourne au parc de la Mauricie , avant on va acheter un petit bateau pneumatique en spécial a 15 dollars dans un magasin a rayon lollll je voulais aller a leur rencontre, embarque le bonhomme dans le petit bateau avec sa caméra et bien entendu une ceinture de sécurité, me voila parti sur le lac, un ptit peu de vent, pas grave go, go, pagaille je m'approche d'eux en prenant mes photos, ca va bien, ce que j'ignorais ils ne sont pas trop habituer de voir des humains sur ce lac, a comparer a Orford, je m'approche encore un peu, et le parent c'est surement dit c'est assez, lollll il plonge il cri ce met a courir sur l'eau, my god, je vais m'éloigner, il est a 20 pieds de moi il plonge et viens vers moi (j'ai déjà vu un huard frappé sur un kayak) heyyyy cé pas le temps qu'il vienne picossé le pneumatique, lollllll , il a fait ce manège plusieurs fois, j'ai vite compris qu'il était temps que je m'éloigne, oufff un ti peu agacant loll quand tu l'aperçois en dessous du pneumatique lolll, ca été une cocasse expérience, compte tenu des circonstances j'ai pris mes photos pas trop près, un bateau rigide est recommender loll, j'ai enfin vu un bébé,

Die letzten fünf vorhandenen M-Wagen werden im Krefeld immer noch sporadisch eingesetzt. Dabei schwankt die tägliche Anzahl zwischen null (besonders an Wochenenden) und drei bis vier. SWK 845 befindet sich auf dem Ostwall kurz vor dem Hauptbahnhof. Da hier - wie im Hintergrund zu sehen ist - zusätzlich die normalspurige U 76 der Rheinbahn nach Düsseldorf verkehrt, befindet sich hier ein Vierschienengleis.

In the U.K. as many as (approx) 2500 of these birds visit our coast each year mostly around Scotland and even then often a good distance from shore so I was very lucky to find this one close to shore on Mersea island
