Immer noch blüht die Gewöhnliche Wegwarte (Cichorium intybus), auch Zichorie genannt, mit ihren vielen hellblauen Blüten an den Rändern unserer Straßen und Feldwege. Ich liebe diese unverwüstliche Blühpflanze, weil ich ihr helles Blau so gern mag. Daneben ist sie auch eine Heilpflanze, und - was viele nicht mehr wissen - auch eine Pflanze, aus deren unterirdischen Teilen man den sogenannten Zichorien-Kaffe zubereiten kann, wenn man die Wurzeln zuvor trocknet, röstet und mahlt. Die Kriegs- und Nachkriegs-Generation wird sich noch gut an diesen Geschmack erinnern, der ein wenig vom Geschmack echten Kaffees abweicht. Man kann die Wegwarte aber angeblich auch als essbare Wildpflanze mannigfaltig in der Küche verwenden, zum Beispiel für Suppen, Salate, Saucen, oder als Pfannengemüse.
The common chicory (Cichorium intybus) is still blooming with its many light blue blossoms along the edges of our roads and country lanes. I love this indestructible flowering plant because I like its light blue colour so much. It is also a medicinal plant and - what many people no longer realise - a plant whose underground parts can be used to make chicory coffee if the roots are dried, roasted and ground beforehand. The war and post-war generation will still remember this taste, which differs slightly from the taste of real coffee. However, chicory is also said to be an edible wild plant that can be used in a variety of ways in the kitchen, for example in soups, salads, sauces or as a stir-fry vegetable.

Immer ein Foto wert sind die Erzpendel zwischen Hamburg-Hansaport und Beddingen. Den nachmittäglichen Leerzug GM 60206 erwischte ich an einer Allee bei Sierße, während mein Fahrrad an einem der Bäume parkte.
Always worth a shot are the iron ore shuttle trains between Hamburg-Hansaport and Beddingen. The afternoon empty GM 60206 I captured at an alley at Sierße, while my bike was parked at one of the trees.
Immer eine gern gesehene Abwechslung: Die Re 620 026 "Zollikofen" mit Schnauz. Hier mit dem leeren Bernegger-Ganzzug Buchs - Visp bei der Durchfahrt in Burgdorf.

While canoeing Rain Lake in Algonquin Park we came across a group of seven Common Loons swimming and diving together. It was very hard to get a photo of them all because as one would pop up to the surface another would dive.

Weil ich immer so begeistert vom Ausseer Narzissenfest bin, liebe ich auch die weissen Narzissen so sehr. Die Ausseer bevorzugen dafür die in den österreichischen Alpen auf Bergwiesen verbreitete Stern-Narzisse (Narcissus radiiflorus), die aber in unserer Gegend kaum vorkommt und im Pflanzenhandel nicht angeboten wird. Deshalb gibt es in unserem Garten fast ausschließlich die hier gezeigte Narzissenart 'Passionale' sowie Dichternarzissen (Narcissus poeticus). Und dafür aber eher nicht die in unserer Gegend üblichen gelben Narzissen, die etwas früher blühen und wohl deshalb Märzenbecher oder auch Osterglocken genannt werden. Die zwei bis vier Wochen mehr bis zur Blüte meiner "Ausseer Narzissen" warte ich gerne !
Because I'm always so enthusiastic about the Aussee daffodil festival, I also love the white daffodils so much. The people of Aussee prefer the star narcissus (Narcissus radiiflorus), which is common in mountain meadows in the Austrian Alps, but which hardly occurs in our area and is not offered in the plant trade. That's why we have almost exclusively the daffodils kind 'Passionale' shown here as well as poet's daffodils (Narcissus poeticus) in our garden. And for that, rather than the yellow wild daffodils that are common in our area, which flower a little earlier and are probably called Märzenbecher (March cups) or also Osterglocken (Easter bells) for that reason. I'm happy to wait the two to four weeks more until my "Aussee daffodils" bloom !

Avant d'aller a Magog, nous avions étés en Mauricie, sur un lac il y avait un couple de huard avec un bébé, il n'y avait pas de location d'embarcation a ce lac, et l'on observais le petit de loin, ca commençais a m'agacé de voir les huards de loin, après avoir été a Magog, on retourne au parc de la Mauricie , avant on va acheter un petit bateau pneumatique en spécial a 15 dollars dans un magasin a rayon lollll je voulais aller a leur rencontre, embarque le bonhomme dans le petit bateau avec sa caméra et bien entendu une ceinture de sécurité, me voila parti sur le lac, un ptit peu de vent, pas grave go, go, pagaille je m'approche d'eux en prenant mes photos, ca va bien, ce que j'ignorais ils ne sont pas trop habituer de voir des humains sur ce lac, a comparer a Orford, je m'approche encore un peu, et le parent c'est surement dit c'est assez, lollll il plonge il cri ce met a courir sur l'eau, my god, je vais m'éloigner, il est a 20 pieds de moi il plonge et viens vers moi (j'ai déjà vu un huard frappé sur un kayak) heyyyy cé pas le temps qu'il vienne picossé le pneumatique, lollllll , il a fait ce manège plusieurs fois, j'ai vite compris qu'il était temps que je m'éloigne, oufff un ti peu agacant loll quand tu l'aperçois en dessous du pneumatique lolll, ca été une cocasse expérience, compte tenu des circonstances j'ai pris mes photos pas trop près, un bateau rigide est recommender loll, j'ai enfin vu un bébé,
Obwohl nur etwa 50 Meter lang ist das sicher einer der spektakulärsten Wegeabschnitte in der Sächsischen Schweiz: der Zugang zur Idagrotte am Frienstein (Vorderes Raubschloss) in den Affensteinen. Auf der einen Seite die ca. 40 Meter hohe Wand des Friensteins, auf der anderen Seite gehts ca. 60 Meter in den Abgrund hinab...

Always along the wall... Although it's only about 50 meters long, this is certainly one of the most spectacular sections of trail in the Saxon Switzerland: the access to the Idagrotte at Frienstein (Vorderes Raubschloss) in the Affensteine. On one side, there is the approximately 40-meter-high wall of Frienstein, and on the other side, it drops about 60 meters into the abyss...
