[DE] Immer mehr Intercity Verbindungen werden zu ICE's aufgewertet oder durch Fahrzeuge vom Typ IC2 getauscht.
Nach und nach kommen immer mehr 101er ausser dinst. Die ersten IC1 Wagen wurden schon nach Bulgarien verkauft oder sind von der ÖBB angemietet. Im Jahr 2020 sah das alle noch ein wenig anders aus. Hier waren die 101er noch in Hülle und Fülle anzutreffen

Der Tagesausgang wurde bei Altheim verbracht. Nach einer guten Stunde des ereignislosen Wartens füllte sich die zuvor entdeckte Stelle zunehmends mit Hobbykollegen bevor 140 438 der Bayernbahn im letzten Licht ihren Auftritt hatte.

Merci encore à Maxime Légaré-Vézina pour m'avoir si bien guidé et grand et chaleureux merci à Simon Théberge et les siens pour avoir pris le relais en m'accueillant afin d'aller à la rencontre du Petit Blongios... Pour une deuxième année de suite, la famille Blongios aura quitté les lieux tout juste avant mon arrivée. Pourtant j'y suis venu deux semaines plus tôt cette fois-ci... Ce sera donc à la mi-juillet la prochaine fois...

Avant de vous présenter des images de ma rencontre avec le juvénile de cinq semaines qui dans l'attente d'être nourri par sa mère restait de longues minutes immobile, nous permettant ainsi de tenter de le capter à satisfaction et à satiété où je ne devais que me concentrer à bien stabiliser mon kayak et ainsi tenter des prises de vues au ras l'eau, j'y reviendrai, donc avant de vous présenter junior, je tenais absolument à rendre hommage à sa maman qui le nourrie et le protège à chaque heure du jour... Toute dévouée. Rien de mieux pour ce faire que de vous présenter un portrait de cette belle dame...

Immer wieder einmal bin ich unterwegs mit meinem transportablen 1qm-Objekt. Es ist jedes Mal erstaunlich, wie neugierig aber auch wie desinteressiert die Menschen sind, denen ich diese Besonderheit mitteilen möchte.
Sometimes I'm traveling with my portable 1sqm object. It's always amazing how curious as well as disinterested people are, I want to show this peculiarity.
Dieser Morgen wird mir immer in Erinnerung bleiben, das war kurz nach dem ich die Information erhalten habe das ich meine Arbeitsstelle verlieren werde, und ich konnte Nachts kein Auge zu tun :-( also kroch ich aus dem Bett und zog mit der Kamera los. Eindrücklich was die Natur mir an diesem Morgen alles zeigte, einige Momente der Ruhe gaben mir Hoffnung für die Zukunft, die Ruhe und die vielen schöne Eindrücke belohnten mich für die schlaflose Nacht!

This morning will always be remembered, that was soon after I received the information that I was going to lose my job, and I could not sleep at night :-( so I crawled out of bed and started the camera. Impressive what nature showed me this morning, some moments of rest gave me hope for the future, the peace and the many beautiful impressions rewarded me for the sleepless night!

Despite the ugly functional fountain and the sealing, the square is still a centre of attraction for the residents of the neighbourhood near the Collège Jean Moulin.

Immer nur ganz kurze Zeit liegt Schnee in Köln. Meist nur ein paar Stunden, dann ist alles wieder Matsch. Ganz schnell sind alle draußen und bauen Schneemänner und in diesem Fall sogar ein Iglu.
La nieve siempre está en Colonia por muy poco tiempo. Por lo general, solo unas pocas horas, luego todo vuelve a ser un granizado. Muy rápidamente, todos salen y construyen muñecos de nieve y en este caso incluso un iglú.

... immer wenn man sie nicht braucht. So musste sich auch hier ein ICE 1 in den Hintergrund drängeln als 156 002 und 187 420 durch das Kinzigtal bei Wächtersbach rollten. Die 156 002 ist eine von nur vier Lokomotiven der Baureihe 156 und gehört derzeit den Fahrzeugwerken Karsdorf (FWK).
FWK 156 002 and EBS 187 420 rolling up the Kinzig Valley near Waechtersbach, between Hanau and Fulda. The series 156 was one of the last locomotives constructed and built for the former DR (Deutsche Reichsbahn of the GDR). However, only four of them were finally built because DB found there was no need for a six axles loco without latest traction technology.

Common Loon, rare in Adriatic sea still present and relatively confident in Scardovari Lagoon (Rovigo)
There are Loons about in Calgary, but they are quite skittish, and I've never been able to get a decent shot of one. This one was hunting at the lagoon at the Bird Sanctuary, and didn't seem too concerned about the few people who were there.
We had some necessary errands to do, so we included a visit to the Sanctuary and a good walk along the nearby Bow River.
Immer wieder führt die Leichlinger Obstroute an üppigen Wiesen mit vielen Obstbäumen vorbei. Das hohe Gras verhindert, dass der Boden nach Regenfällen zu schnell austrocknet, was den Obstbäumen natürlich zu Gute kommt. Auf eine zusätzliche künstliche Bewässerung kann so weitestgehend verzichtet werden.

The Leichlingen fruit route repeatedly leads past lush meadows with many fruit trees. The tall grass prevents the soil from drying out too quickly after rainfall, which of course benefits the fruit trees. This means that additional artificial irrigation can be largely avoided.

While the value of our Canadian Loonie (nickname for the Canadian Dollar) continues to sink, we can get some comfort in the thought that our loons are still well and floating.
Pictures taken earlier this year, when our weather and the value of our Canadian dollar was so much better :)
I would be interested to know if people like this type of "birdscape" photography vs the style presented in the first four images of the series. Thanks for the feedback
Immer gern von mir fotografiert: Die schweren Sechsachser der Baureihe 151. Auch wenn der Stern dieser eindrucksvollen Loks bei DB Cargo bereits sehr am Sinken ist - der optische Zustand der meisten von ihnen verdeutlicht dies eindrücklich - so kann man diese nach wie vor regelmäßig in Bayern antreffen. Am 26. Juli 2018 brachte 151 150 einen gemischten Güterzug aus München Nord und fuhr in gemächlicher Fahrt an meinem Fotostandpunkt bei Nordheim vorbei, das Einfahrsignal des Bahnhofs Donauwörth sprang erst spät auf HP 1 um.
I always like to take pictures of the impressive class 151 engines. Unfortunately time is running up for these classy locomotives - their scruffy outward appearance illustrates this impressively. But you can still see them on a regular basis in Bavaria. For example on July 26th 2018 when 151 150 passed my photo-spot near Nordheim. It hauled a heavy northbound mixed freight train coming from Munich shunting yard.
