Wie immer zu dieser Zeit, denke ich an die Kollegen, die über die Tage Dienst haben im Krankenhaus, bei den Rettungsdiensten, der Feuerwehr oder Polizei. Ich habe jetzt ein paar Tage frei. Frohe Weihnachten!
Leider gibt es auch dieses Jahr bislang keinen Schnee, und so habe ich ein Foto genommen, welches etwas älter ist. Der Schnee ist also echt, nur die wehenden Flocken habe ich diesmal mit Photoshop dazugefügt. Keine KI, sondern echte Photoshop-Handarbeit!
As always at this time of the year, I think to my colleagues who are on duty over the holidays in hospitals, emergency services, the fire brigade or the police. I for myself have a few days off now. Merry Christmas!
Unfortunately, there has been no snow so far this year, so I took a photo that is a little older. The snow is real, but I added the blowing flakes with Photoshop this time. No AI, but real Photoshop artwork!

This is an immature loon, probably last year's young. Any self-respecting adult loon has probably gone north to breed.
Immer mehr fährt das Unternehmen BLS Cargo Nord (ehem. CrossRail) Leistungen innerhalb von Deutschland. Meist anzutreffen ist das Unternehmen auf der Rheinschiene zwischen den Niederlanden und der Schweiz, vereinzelt verkehrten aber auch Leistungen bereits aus Aachen nach Falkenberg, jedoch meist mit gemieteten Drehstromlokomotiven.
Heute verkehrt das Unternehmen auch regelmäßig auf der Ost-West Achse bis nach Leipzig und das sogar auch meist mit den Alpinisten Vectrons von BLS Cargo, wie hier im Bild zu sehen.
So konnte ich zusammen mit @20grad.eisenbahnfotografie einen geschlossenen Autozug aus Montzen auf den Weg nach Leipzig-Wahren in Wefensleben aufnehmen, zusammen mit der BLSC 475 435.

(NL): BLS Cargo Nord (voorheen CrossRail) exploiteert steeds meer diensten binnen Duitsland. Het bedrijf is het meest actief op de Rijnlijn tussen Nederland en Zwitserland, maar rijdt af en toe ook van Aken naar Falkenberg, hoewel deze ritten meestal werden uitgevoerd met gehuurde driefasige wisselstroomlocomotieven.
Tegenwoordig exploiteert het bedrijf ook regelmatig diensten op de oost-westas tot aan Leipzig, vaak met de Alpinist Vectron-locomotieven van BLS Cargo, zoals te zien is op deze foto.
Samen met @20grad.eisenbahnfotografie heb ik een gesloten wagontrein kunnen fotograferen die vanuit Montzen richting Leipzig-Wahren reed in Wefensleben, getrokken door BLSC 475 435.
Another shot of the Great Northern Diver at Farmoor Reservoir in Oxfordshire. The largest of the UK's divers, it has a bigger, heavier head and bill than its commoner relatives. It is largely a winter visitor to our shores although some non-breeding birds stay off northern coasts in the summer.

Immer gerne von mir fotografiert werden die Škoda-Züge des München-Nürnberg-Express (MNE). Ein endliches Vergnügen, sollen diese doch ab Ende 2028 vollständig durch neue Fahrzeuge ersetzt werden. DB Regio hat erneut den Zuschlag für den Betrieb ab diesem Zeitpunkt erhalten, plant dann jedoch die Verwendung von Siemens Triebzügen der Bauart Desiro HC, wie sie auch schon auf der Hochgeschwindigkeitsstrecke nach Erfurt eingesetzt werden. Man verspricht sich dadurch eine höhere Fahrzeug-Verfügbarkeit und somit zuverlässigeren Betrieb. Am 08. April 2025 konnte ich die 102 006 vor dem RE 4029 nach München HBF bei Vierkirchen im Dachauer Hinterland dokumentieren.
I always enjoy photographing the Škoda trains of the Munich-Nuremberg Express (MNE). A finite pleasure, as they are to be completely replaced by new vehicles from the end of 2028. DB Regio has once again been awarded the contract for operation from this date, but is then planning to use Siemens Desiro HC multiple units, as are already in use on the high-speed line to Erfurt. It is hoped that this will result in higher vehicle availability and therefore more reliable operation. On 8 April 2025, I was able to document 102 006 in front of the RE 4029 to Munich main station near Vierkirchen in the Dachau hinterland.

Noch immer kann man klassischen, lokbespannten Personenverkehr in Slowenien erleben. Bereits im letzten Jahr Ende September wartete ich bei Zgornji Log an der großen Eisenbahnbrücke über die Save auf den MV 247 Ljubljana - Hodoš. Eigentlich mit einem "Moped" der Reihe 342 bespannt, erfreute mich an diesem Morgen eine "Brižita" in Form der 363 030 vor diesem Zug.
You can still find classic passenger trains in Slovenia. Already last year at the end of september, i waited at the the bridge across the river Save in Zgornji Log for the MV 247 Ljubljana - Hodoš. Normally, this train is hauled by a "Moped" class 342, but that morning a "Brižita" in shape of 363 030 pleased me with that train.

Common in the forest lakes of Canada. Their jodeling in summer nights is a real treat to hear. We haven't heard one this year, yet.

Merci à mon généreux hôte, Guy Morneau, qui m'aura à nouveau permis de vivre cette toujours belle expérience que celle d'aller à la rencontre de ce si bel oiseau en compagnie de ses petits à peine sortie du nid.
Quatrième volet | Le repos...
Après plus d'une heure à nager afin de suivre les parents se déplaçant continuellement pour les nourrir, les petits se seront installés sur le dos de leur mère histoire de prendre une pause repos bien méritée, ce que fit d'ailleurs aussi la belle dame. Nous aurons passer les dernières minutes de notre séjour à les observer de la sorte. Pur bonheur!
Überraschend kommt die EURO 4000 in diesem Jahr zu Planeinsätzen in Deutschland. Wer hätte das gedacht? Aber genau das ist es ja was unser Hobby so spannend macht und wohl nie langweilig werden lässt. ;) Hier mit einem Kesselzug von Münchsmünster nach Saarbrücken Rbf im Abendlicht bei Bruchmühlbach Miesau. I was in Devon for my Daughter's graduation and found this in the local country park while walking the dog around a small lake in the pouring rain. It was still there next morning allowing for some quite close shots although shutter speeds weren't great and I still managed to blow the whites. I do like the dark water though.
