The first blossom of the season from a camellia bush in my mother's yard. We are "social distancing," and I live about a mile away, but she lets me know what's going on in her garden, and I drive over and slip into the back with my camera and phone. By the time I got there, this bloom was in shade, and I found it easier to capture it with my iPhone than with my camera and no flash.

Camellias are native to Japan, China, India, and the Himalayas and grow in humid, temperate climates. They are used as symbols of love and perfection. The white ones represent innocent love, and the red ones passion and romantic love.

"Pink camellia is a representation of the desire to be with a loved one. Another pink camellia meaning is nostalgia. Pink camellia may also symbolize the greatness of the soul."

Merton as monk had discerned that efficacy in his vocation to write would depend on exercising an ability to report the singular wisdom he was continually learning in the school of his own life’s more intimate relationships with God, with human cultures, and within the opportunities offered through the persons, places, and identity-transforming events of his personal history.

His desire to write and speak truth beyond his received opinions that were inculcated in him by his education, social class, and singular religious commitments, in short, his will to find his own voice, was ascetically heroic. His intuition that a grace was given to write confessing the contours of his personal struggle to be a fully integrated and truth-speaking human being was romantic. His goal to be a witness to freedom by word and example was idealized.

ENG: Hi, you love out there. You know, it's funny how the landmarks of a city are so referenced. Very few people crossed our path on Friday during my little photo tour with my child.

You can see the 67-metre-high Victory Column, also called Goldelse, from 1873 in the centre of Berlin at the big star.

ENG: Hi and hello to yours out there. Now my long vacation is unfortunately also over again. Now I will of course delight you with some impressions from my southern Germany vacation. Because the beginning is Rothenburg o.d. Tauber in the Bavarian Middle Franconia. Here our journey had begun.

I photographed from the Schwarzadlerbrunnen in the direction of the monastery tower.

Rothenburg ob der Tauber, with its historic old town, its unique location above the Tauber valley and its romantic half-timbered houses, is for many people the epitome of medieval Germany. Guests from all over the world therefore travel to Western Middle Franconia to capture the unique atmosphere. A walk on the city wall or a visit to the museums and churches make it easy for visitors to immerse themselves in bygone days. But Rothenburg is far away from a bl0ße scenery a lively old town with many opportunities to stay and relax. In addition to the historical features, Rothenburg ob der Tauber focuses on wine culinary delights and the proximity to nature! Hiking, biking or simply taking a leisurely stroll along the historic town wall - in Rothenburg ob der Tauber you will quickly find peace and quiet and everyone will find their favourite spot.

The world is not just here. It shocks us into amazement...Questions born of curiosity drive us to investigate how things in the world function and relate, but wonder's question of why there is a world is a question of amazement, not of curiosity...The world is a mystery, a question, not an answer and therefore, the most pressing problem is what does it stand for? What is its meaning?

The special glass façade of the office building called "Cube" at Berlin's central station on Washingtonplatz is on display. The folds and bends of the cube where the surroundings are reflected offers a unique kaleidoscopic highlight. Depending on the incidence of light the appearance changes. ENG: My personal Corona highlight, swimming his lanes all alone with the family.

The Stadtbad Oderberger Straße (also called Stadtbad Prenzlauer Berg) is a swimming pool in Oderberger Straße in the Berlin district of Prenzlauer Berg, which was first opened in 1902. The master builder Ludwig Hoffmann had the house including a 20-meter long and 12-meter wide swimming pool built from 1899 to 1902. At the beginning of the 20th century, the public showers were also immensely important for the hygiene of the Berlin population.

The building survived the Second World War without major damage. In the GDR, it continued to be used as a public baths. The swimming pool was an important social reference point for the people in the surrounding area - many had learned to swim here. At the end of 1986, a closure for safety reasons resulted in a vacancy of several years; until 2010, the institution served primarily as a venue for events.

After a change of ownership and extensive renovation work, it has been used again for bathing and now as a hotel since autumn 2016. In addition to the hotel guests of the Hotel Oderberger, everyone else can of course also visit the former Volksbadeanstalt. Three special highlights are still available. There is the upper floor, where there is a surrounding spectator gallery. The entire room is closed with a four-part groined vault. The balustrades and pillars made of sandstone are richly ornamented.

The complex has been a listed building since 2007.

The word of God is not bound. God speaks, and the world is made; God speaks, and the world is remade by the Word Incarnate. And our human speaking struggles to keep up. We need not human words that will decisively capture what the Word of God has done and is doing, but words that will show us how much time we have to take in fathoming this reality, helping us turn and move and see, from what may be infinitesimally different perspectives, the patterns of light and shadow in a world where the Word’s light has been made manifest.

You can see the general view of the dome and the dome fresco in the interior.

The Neumünster (also Neumünster St. Johannes Evangelist and St. Johannes the Baptist) is the collegiate church of the former collegiate monastery Neumünster in the old town of Würzburg. It is located at the place where Kilian, Totnan and Kolonat allegedly died a martyr's death.

The octagonal, double-skin dome is crowned by a lantern. The baroque west building of the romantic church was built between 1712 and 1716 by Joseph Greising. The dome fresco by Nikolaus Gottfried Stuber, completed in 1736, shows the veneration of the Holy Trinity by saints and angels on a total area of approximately 550 m². The large inscription panel on the west side names the canon Johann Bernhard Beyer as the donor as well as the date of completion of the painting in 1736. During the bombing of Würzburg on 19 February 1945 and the bombing raid on Würzburg on 16 March 1945, the dome and the dome fresco were seriously damaged. Therefore, we see today a restored and renovated dome, but it still looks very attractive to the viewer.

ENG: It is the landmark of the city. The Holsten Gate ("Holstein-Tor") is a city gate that borders the old town of the Hanseatic city of Lübeck to the west. The late Gothic building is one of the remains of the Lübeck city fortifications. Besides the castle gate, the Holsten Gate is the only preserved city gate of Lübeck. For more than 300 years it stood as the "Middle Holsten Gate" in a row with three other Holsten gates, which were demolished in the 19th century. On the other hand, the Middle Holsten Gate, now known as the "Holsten Gate", has been restored several times, most recently in 2006.

The gate consists of the south tower, north tower and central building and it has four floors. Since 1950, the rooms of the gate have housed the Lübeck City History Museum.

The inscription from 1871 on my photo is on the field side, that is in front of the city. There it says "Concordia domi foris pax", which means "Concord inside, peace outside". A second one is on the city side, this inscription is also from 1871 and reads "S.P.Q.L. 1477 - 1871 (Senatus populusque Lubecensis). Which means "Senate and people of Lübeck". As we know today, the gate was not built in 1477 but in 1478 and the number 1871 stands for the restoration at that time as well as the foundation of the German Empire.
