We never have a chance to see the Aura, until last night. I didn't even know about it, we usually are way too far south to see this special event. Congrats to the lucky person that captured this beautiful moment!

This IS a COLOR photo!!!!! The only thing I did was a slight crop to remove some power wires and add a bit of contrast and a white matte in picnik.... I should have had an umbrella because the camera was getting covered in fluffy snow as I stood there..but I don't have three arms anyway, so what can you do?

....in angels. i see them everywhere. i see one emerging in my picture. i didn't put her there, she just arrived. i also believe in miracles and magic and love. do you?

I've been busy repainting the inside of my favourite cave at Maori Bay recently. Hope you like what I've done with the place! Single exposure, painted with a 'special' torch. (No photoshop)

I met this seven month, long haired dachshund and his owner battling against the wind at Mudeford yesterday. We stopped to chat and when I asked the dog's name he told me it was Sparticus, to which I had to reply " No, I'm Sparticus" (just couldn't help myself).

It was so windy it was difficult to hold the camera still, coupled with the fact that the dog was constantly moving, hence there's not a lot in focus - lol. However, I loved the dog and delighted in his wonderful name

Its been ages since I’ve uploaded a water image, so here it is, a crowned water droplet.

My Setup.

I used a flat cooking tray with different colour cards. I then set the camera up at one end pointing at the card and at the other end, I got a cereal box with the front cut off and then covered with a sheet of plain paper, then my flashgun which was connected to a transmitter was put inside the box.

How I got the Water Droplets.

To get the water droplets, I filled a sandwich bag full of water and hung it over the tray. I then used a needle to pierce the bag. The water was fast flowing but give it a chance and it will start to drip.

To get this effect, you will need a flashgun, it’s the flashgun which freezes the water.

I was just out walking around, trying out a new lens. This curious little girl (I'm assuming) was very curious as to what I was up to.

I especially like this image because it shows the beautiful green color on the cliffs of Iceland and the gorgeous blues in the water below.

Puffins are extremely fast, so I am pleased whenever I get one in focus.

I had been laying in the sand at a pretty good distance from the roped area while watching a family of oystercatchers that was behind the barrier. After a few minutes this youngster ran out at an angle, easing in my direction and then ducked behind this tuft of vegetation. It seemed to be cautiously curious about my presence. And really, I would be wary too considering the bling the last humans nailed him with. However, banding is an important aid on the conservation of the species so it’s a small price to pay for the protection of these cleaver shorebirds. #ShareTheShore

This is an older dupe I picked up long ago of the eastbound Laker at Mundelein. I tried about every trick I could think of in both Photoshop and Lightroom trying to fix it. Still leaves a lot to be desired but dang cool content. SOO 2500 leads a geep and a fine looking train on June 8, 1957. Duplicate slide from Richard Wallin, Chuck Schwesinger collection.

I had to go 210 miles to get them, (in Fairbanks) but I found them just in time for Easter! Posing on the deck rail in driving snow.... then quickly back inside the house.
