Die früheste Besiedlung im Bereich des heutigen Stadtteils St. Pauli bestand aus einem Zisterzienserinnen-Kloster, das um 1247 in der Nähe des heutigen Fischmarkts; es bestand dort bis 1293. Zu Beginn des 17. Jahrhunderts wurden zahlreiche Hügel des Vorortes im Zuge der Errichtung der Neubefestigung der Stadt planiert, um Material für die Errichtung der Festungswälle zu gewinnen und zugleich freies Schussfeld („Glacis“) vor den Mauern am damaligen Millerntor zu haben. Wegen des freien Schussfeldes waren Ansiedlungen zunächst verboten, doch seit dem 17. Jahrhundert wurden Betriebe, die wegen Geruchsentwicklung, Wasserverschmutzung oder Lärm in der Stadt unerwünscht waren, in den Vorort verbannt. Etwa zur gleichen Zeit begann auch die Tradition des Amüsierbetriebs in diesem Gebiet. 1894 wurde St. Pauli zum Hamburger Stadtteil; jetzt leben in dem Stadtteil lauf 2,3 km² ca. 27500 Einwohner.

Hace 2000 años, los israelitas esperaban desesperadamente la venida del Mesías, pero cuando llegó Él, los fariseos lo clavaron en la cruz, al final Israel fue castigado por Dios, y esto llevó a la destrucción de Israel. Ahora ya estamos en los últimos días, y las profecías del regreso del Señor se han cumplido básicamente. El Señor se ha encarnado y se ha convertido en el Hijo del hombre para aparecer y obrar, Él es Cristo de los últimos días, Dios Todopoderoso. Dios Todopoderoso ha expresado millones de palabras y ha llevado a cabo una nueva obra. Juan 21:25 dice: “Y hay también muchas otras cosas que Jesús hizo, que si se escribieran en detalle, pienso que ni aun el mundo mismo podría contener los libros que se escribirían”.
El Señor Jesús profetizó: “Aún tengo muchas cosas que deciros, pero ahora no las podéis soportar. Pero cuando Él, el Espíritu de verdad, venga, os guiará a toda la verdad, porque no hablará por su propia cuenta, sino que hablará todo lo que oiga, y os hará saber lo que habrá de venir” (Juan 16:12-13).
El Apocalipsis profetiza: “El que tiene oído, oiga lo que el Espíritu dice a las iglesias” (Apocalipsis 2:7).
De esto podemos ver que cuando el Señor venga en los últimos días, expresará nuevas palabras, así pues, ¿cómo podrían estas palabras ser registradas en la Biblia de antemano? Si pensamos que no hay palabras de Dios fuera de la Biblia, ¿cómo se pueden cumplir las profecías anteriores?
Dios Todopoderoso dice: “¿Quién es más grande: Dios o la Biblia? ¿Por qué debe obrar Dios de acuerdo con la Biblia? ¿Podría ser que Dios mismo no tuviera derecho de sobrepasar la Biblia? ¿No puede salirse Dios de la Biblia y hacer otra obra? ¿Por qué no guardaban el día de reposo Jesús y Sus discípulos? Si debía guardar el día de reposo y practicar según los mandamientos del Antiguo Testamento, ¿por qué no lo hizo Jesús después de venir, sino que en su lugar lavó pies, cubrió cabezas, partió pan y bebió vino? ¿No está todo esto ausente de los mandamientos del Antiguo Testamento? Si Jesús honraba el Antiguo Testamento, ¿por qué terminó con estas doctrinas? Deberías saber qué vino primero, ¡Dios o la Biblia! Si era el Señor del día de reposo, ¿no podría ser también el de la Biblia?”.
“El hecho que estoy explicando aquí es este: lo que Dios es y tiene es inagotable e ilimitado por siempre. Dios es la fuente de la vida y de todas las cosas. Dios no puede ser dimensionado por ningún ser creado. Por último, debo todavía recordar a todos: no delimitéis otra vez a Dios en libros, palabras o en Sus declaraciones pasadas. Hay una sola palabra para la característica de la obra de Dios: nueva. A Él no le gusta tomar caminos antiguos o repetir Su obra, y mucho menos quiere que la gente lo adore mientras que lo delimita a un cierto ámbito. Este es el carácter de Dios”.

Las palabras de Dios nos dicen con claridad que Él es la fuente del agua viva, que el contenido registrado en la Biblia es limitado y que Él no obra de acuerdo con la Biblia. Si pensamos que todas las palabras de Dios están en la Biblia y nos negamos a aceptar las declaraciones del Señor regresado, entonces ¿no nos convertiremos en personas que esperan el regreso del Señor Jesús pero se resisten a Su venida? Festa dei lavoratori

La Festa dei lavoratori è una festività celebrata il 1º maggio di ogni anno che intende ricordare l'impegno del movimento sindacale ed i traguardi raggiunti in campo economico e sociale dai lavoratori. La festa del lavoro è riconosciuta in molte nazioni del mondo ma non in tutte.
Origini internazionali
Più precisamente, con essa si intende ricordare le battaglie operaie volte alla conquista di un diritto ben preciso: l'orario di lavoro quotidiano fissato in otto ore. Tali battaglie portarono alla promulgazione di una legge che fu approvata nel 1866 nell'Illinois (USA)[senza fonte]. La Prima Internazionale richiese poi che legislazioni simili fossero approvate anche in Europa.
L'origine della festa risale ad una manifestazione organizzata negli Stati Uniti dai Cavalieri del lavoro (Knights of Labor, associazione fondata nel 1869) a New York il 5 settembre 1882. Due anni dopo, nel 1884, in un'analoga manifestazione i Cavalieri del lavoro approvarono una risoluzione affinché l'evento avesse una cadenza annuale. Altre organizzazioni sindacali affiliate all' Internazionale dei lavoratori - vicine ai movimenti socialisti ed anarchici - suggerirono come data della festività il primo maggio.
Ma a far cadere definitivamente la scelta su questa data furono i gravi incidenti accaduti nei primi giorni di maggio del 1886 a Chicago (USA) e conosciuti come rivolta di Haymarket. Questi fatti ebbero il loro culmine il 4 maggio quando la polizia sparò sui manifestanti provocando numerose vittime.
L'allora presidente Grover Cleveland ritenne che la festa del primo maggio avrebbe potuto costituire un'opportunità per commemorare questo episodio. Successivamente, temendo che la commemorazione potesse risultare troppo a favore del nascente socialismo, stornò l'oggetto della festività sull'antica organizzazione dei Cavalieri del lavoro.
La data del primo maggio fu adottata in Canada nel 1894 sebbene il concetto di festa del lavoro sia in questo caso riferito a precedenti marce di lavoratori tenute a Toronto e Ottawa nel 1872.
In Europa la festività del primo maggio fu ufficializzata dai delegati socialisti della Seconda Internazionale riuniti a Parigi nel 1889 e ratificata in Italia due anni dopo.

In Italia la festività fu soppressa durante il ventennio fascista - che preferì festeggiare una autarchica Festa del lavoro italiano il 21 aprile in coincidenza con il Natale di Roma - ma fu ripristinata subito dopo la fine del conflitto mondiale, nel 1945.
Nel 1947 la ricorrenza venne funestata a Portella della Ginestra (PA) quando la banda di Salvatore Giuliano sparò su un corteo di circa duemila lavoratori in festa, uccidendone undici e ferendone una cinquantina.
I sindacati italiani CGIL, CISL e UIL organizzano annualmente a Roma un concerto per celebrare il primo maggio dall'anno 1991 (vedi Concerto del Primo Maggio a Roma a cui partecipano annualmente centinaia di migliaia di persone).
I've always been conflicted as to my feelings about Chinatowns, the hybrid nature of the environment throws me off in terms of how I want to capture it. Visually the space is very much like what I shoot when I'm back home in Hong Kong, it is dense, bright and textured. Yet the nature of the environment acts very much like the western city it is in, isolated, detached and common. It is exactly what it is, a recreation of one's natural habitat in a foreign land, a cultural theme park within a few city blocks.
Like a theme park, I find the familiar endearing and the differences absolutely annoying. Unable to accept the space for what it is, I complain about the things they aren't doing 'right', how it's done better back home, how this is just a mask of signs and lights thrown on to create an illusion of familiarity. I feel like a parent projecting their failures on to their children, how this space disappoints me as it doesn't live up to the standards I wish it can achieve.
When in fact, it is the fusion of the familiar with the odd that reminds me of the confused nature of my own identity. The ever difficult balancing act of assimilation into the culture of my adopted hometown, while desperately trying to hold onto whatever is left of my own. A visit to Chinatown reminds me of how futile my attempts are to remain Chinese while becoming American.
As I'm about to leave New York for another city, I've decided to confront this space, to stop trying to make it something it's not. To finally see it for what it is before trying to figure out another one. And in the process of understanding this hybrid space, maybe it'll allow myself to accept the fact that I've become what musically would be equivalent to a Canto Pop/Hip hop mashup. A set of opposing beats jammed together to form something that's confusing and fucked up, but has the potential to be quite interesting with some finessing.
