Looks like a little lane in this shot but this is the river Pol, very low in this photo. It runs through the village of Polperro in Cornwall.

By no means my best photo, but it is worth the upload at the moment for something a bit different and the fact that I simply have had no time to process anything lately... The foreground is way too dark for my liking, but will get a better shot some day soon I am sure!
The Grose Valley is a rugged valley in the Blue Mountains, New South Wales, Australia. It has been formed by the Grose River, the headwaters of which are in the Mount Victoria area. The valley is located between the two major routes across the Great Dividing Range, the Great Western Highway and Bells Line of Road.
The Grose River has cut a deep gorge through the area as it makes its way east towards the Hawkesbury River. Sheer sandstone cliffs standing hundreds of metres above the river make for spectacular scenery and can be viewed extensively from the Blackheath area, where there are a number of accessible lookouts, the best known being Govetts Leap. The valley can also be viewed from lookouts near Bells Line of Road and points outside Mount Victoria.
This is a B/W photograph of Hēmerovigli (aka Imerovigli, Ἡμεροβίγλι), the highest settlement or village on Santorini (aka Thēra, Θήρα) Island, Greece, at a 1,181 ft (360 m) altitude. The Orthodox Christian Church of the Resurrection (“Anastasis”) of the Lord is viewed with its blue dome.
The architecture of the volcanic island is of course Cycladic yet it has a distinctive style of its own. One enjoys the awe-inspiring beauty of the whitewashed houses atop the sheer cliffs and in proximity to Skaros, the dark and enormous rock formation, on the north of the island’s largest town, Fira (aka Phēra, Φηρά). The shot was taken in late October.

Until Alaska joined the union, Mt Whitney was the highest peak in the USA. For all of its stature, it sort of hides away back behind Lone Pine Peak which looks higher from the distance.
What a spectacular mound of granite is the Sierra Nevada. For those Forty Niners trekking across the western landscape, it presented a monumental hinderance to their goal. They had to find a way around it which took weeks of extra travel.

▶ WHAT IS EXPLORE?
"Explore is a Flickr feature with the intent of showing you 'some of the most awesome photos on Flickr.' Photos are automatically selected by computer according to a secret algorithm called Interestingness. The top 500 photos ranked by Interestingness are shown in Explore.
Flickr has stated that many factors go into calculating Interestingness: a photo's tags, how many groups the photo is in, views, favorites, where click-throughs are coming from, who comments on a photo and when, and more. The velocity of any of those components is a key factor. For example, getting 20 comments in an hour counts much higher than getting 20 comments in a week.
Is Explore a showcase for the top Flickr photographers? No. It's for photo viewers, not the photographers. It exists so that, at any moment, anyone who wants to view interesting photos can go to Explore and have a reasonable chance of seeing something interesting.
Does that imply that photographs not in Explore are uninteresting? Of course not. Many wonderful photos are uploaded to Flickr each day not selected for Explore. But, to serve its purpose, Explore only includes a small sampling of all of the photos on Flickr, showing photos from many different people to create a diverse selection."
