EXPLORED: highest position #9 (October 5, 2011)
To climb Germany’s highest mountain - the Zugspitze (2,962 metres above sea lever) - on one day, we had to get up early. We left Ulm, where my brother lives, at 6 a.m. in the morning and arrived in Ehrwald, Austria two hours later to start our ascent from there. Our plan was to arrive at the top no later than 4 p.m. to be able to catch the last cable car downwards. That way we had 7 hours for climbing and 1 hour for lunch in between. In fact we made it to the top much quicker and reached the summit before 3 p.m. The weather was a bit too hot for climbing but perfect for making pictures - and the view along the way was just terrific.

We were treated to a nice view after a short/steep hike up to Hoye-Crest. It definitely got the pulse rate up for our mostly geriatric group!
At the highest point reached by rail in the state of Connecticut Pan Local PL-1 reaches into the Firestone Building Products Yard at the end of track at the top of the Terryville Loop Track to pull a string of empty tank cars. This customer operates out of a portion of the huge 1.2 million square ft former General Motors New Departures ball bearing plant that was in operation from 1969 to 1995 and to this day remains the largest industrial building under one roof in all of the six New England states.

(Thank u~ Smooch to the gals... Cheers a beer to u guys :D)
Honestly I’ve so many jetty shots in my archive & yet when I go out for photo shoots, I tend to blindly end up at beaches that have jetties haha! In fact my friend recently told me that Adelaide should not be called the city of churches… instead it should be the city of jetties. Almost every beach has its own jetty & “surprisingly” you can find one after another within 10km or less of each other as one drives down the south coast. The only difference is the size & yes size does matter in this case :P This jetty is the slimmest I’ve seen so far.. a bit anorexic I reckon lol! I will post another angle some other time to show u how slim it is…. only if you & I are not yet jetty-phobic :D See..another bad sunset day for me :P
Thank you so much for popping by with your views, comments or faves! Always appreciate them!

The above photo is a sunflower field on the way during my working trip. Their blooming time is October to December in Saraburi and Loburi province, Thailand. I intended to go to this area again to only take some nice photos, but never have a chance to do. Have to wait until next year.:)

The highest rocky peak in Meteora, Greece makes a splendid backdrop to the Greek flag flying high up in late February.
The rock formation “Great Saint” (Aïá, 2,067 ft /630 m) is the highest of all the regional rock formations and a climbers' favorite. It is the South-East aspect of Aïa's peak or top that one sees behind the flagpole.
Meteora is the name of the group comprising many impressive and lofty rock formations: The sandstone rock masses were formed 60 million years ago, are geologically unique and listed in UNESCO world heritage sites.

Craig Goch, the highest upstream of the series of dams in the Elan Valley, is often referred to as the 'top dam'. It is located at a height of 1040 feet (317m) above sea level. As with all the dams, work started with the arrival of the railway line at the site. In the case of the top dam the line had the farthest to go and a rocky outcrop had to be blasted and dug through on the route to the site. Work on excavating the foundations for a secure base for the structure started in July 1897, some three years after the start of work on the lowest dam at Caban Coch.
