I would have liked this shot more had it have been totally in focus, but they were quite a way, away, and I didn't have a tripod..:O(
But I liked the way I caught Mother and Child looking like each other and in the same direction...just luck I guess..lol..:O)

An abandoned cotton spinning mill somewhere in Wales. Abandoned for some time, not sure on the history behind it. Visited with Wiffsmiff23. Ended up doing some obscure macro work as part of the visit too.

So much so that boats moored to the East wall (that's the lowest of our harbour's walls) had to be manually fended off through the tide's abnormal height to stop them drifting over the quayside, maybe allowing them to topple as the tide later dropped. This very high tide only happens now and then - but if sea levels continue to rise slowly as we're told they are doing, that's not restricted to low set tropical islands - it'll be everywhere that existing structures were created before this began to be noticed.

As most of you know, we went to the Ivy reataurant in London, for my Birthday, and we had a wonderful time, the food was amazing, their Icecream is to die for..LOL..:O)
I had Crab Bisque to start, followed by Good old Fish N Chips..(Posh Version..Not a News Paper in sight..LOL..)..and then to finish I had the posh version of Jelly n Icecream...This is Rhubarb Jelly n red berry sorbet...It was very, very nice...But as you can see the piece de La resistance, was that they wrote Happy Birthday in Chocolate on the plate for me..A nice touch I think you would agree...:O)
All in all the meal was great and conturay to popular belief it wasn't very expensive either, a three course meal for two including mineral water only came to £70...:O)
The Njupeskär waterfall is the highest in Sweden, cascading a total of 93 metres with a free fall of 70 metres. For thousands of years the water has chiselled out a deep canyon. Most of the visitors come to see it. From the top of the falls, you have a fantastic view of the canyon and the landscape.

I have always wanted a shot of the Mukilteo Lighthouse with it's Christmas lights on. I really wanted some snow on it, but the lights were not on it when we had our last snow in November. I usually will not do a straight on shot of a building because of the distortion that is created by the camera lens, which I fixed somewhat in Photoshop with a perspective crop.
As I might create a Christmas card out of this, I did not want one of the Washington State Ferries in the shot. I have another from my usual side angle that has a ferry in it, but I thought it would distract from the lighthouse in this case. Here is one of my older shots: www.flickr.com/photos/fresnatic/4832194029/
This is three exposures (-2,0,+2) merged and tonemapped in Photomatix 4.0. Oh how I love the new de-ghosting tool in Photomatix 4.0. The wind was blowing at a good clip, so those icicle lights were moving during the lengthened exposures. I perspective cropped in Photoshop CS5 and erased some of the ghosting that Photomatix did not take care of. Added the Vignette in Lightroom 3.0.
Thank you for the views, comments and faves. I appreciate them. I also want to wish everyone a Merry Christmas and a Happy New Year!

I haven't been really active these days, I'm sorry!!!
This is my first attempt with infrared and sea. It gives an effect similar to the 10 stops ND, plus some nice tonal shifts if you include greens, such as I did in this one.
Thanx a lot for the great appreciation comments for my previous upload!
The shot
This was shot one the little promontory you can see on my last upload.
