All the Best things in Life - Are not Things at all.
Large lets you see all the Grackles going home to roost for the night. They come over in droves in the morning and at sunset.

You can see 4 of the 6 remaining monasteries in this picture.
The monastery complex of Meteora, Greece, sits thousands of feet above the ground, making it one of the most remote places to live and worship in the world.
While 30 monasteries were built over the centuries, today only six remain active.
Please press "L" and zoom to appreciate the immensity.

A bridge connects Missouri to Kansas under heavenly skies. Just seemed fitting as this bridge leads towards what I remember to be St. John's Catholic Church in KCK.
Taken at the intersection of where the Missouri and Kansas River meet at what is called Kaw Point.

Yesterday it was like God has opened the gate of Heavens over my city and the Angels looked down :-)

Watersnip - Common Snipe (Gallinago gallinago).
Nicknamed Heavenly Goat (Hemelgeit) in Dutch because of the unmistakable whirring sound the spread-out tailfeathers of snipe males make during courtship flights in spring.
Always a challenge to get these small and fast birds in focus at an acceptable distance.
La Belle Eiffel Tower, France, by night (from dusk until one o'clock in the morning), casting a ray of light and golden brightness on the Paris landscape. Shot it, while walking to it from the small holiday apartment my companion and I enjoyed, within the 7th arrondissement of Paris, that of the Tower.

One of the few places I was able to fly my drone. This view shows the marina, the old Courthouse, and the large Banyan Tree which covers the park in back.
Big tourist destination. And a beautiful little village with lots of history.
From the Lahaina Town website:
In 1802, King Kamehameha made Lahaina the capital of the Hawaiian Kingdom. He built a brick palace there, along with residences and other royal buildings, and Lahaina served as the center of the Hawaiian government for over 50 years, until permanently relocating to Honolulu for its harbor.
Ferruginous hawk soaring upward in flight over the vast Tetons landscape in search of its next meal. I distinctly remember this day, though taken 2-1/2 years ago already. We were all out looking for a badger, which coincidently I never did get a shot of that day. Though the badger would be on the ground obviously, I was totally distracted by this beautiful light raptor flying over my head. I was relatively new to western raptors and I wasn't even sure at the moment what it was, but against that bright blue sky, with cloudy patches, it just looked heavenly. Though I missed the badger (yes, the others saw it), I was still pleased with what I took away.
Happy Thursday everyone!

This continues my brief series of wobbly images taken in Sherborne Abbey last month...
I’ve often thought that playing a large organ in a cathedral must be one of the most exhilarating and visceral experiences there is. There is so much power going on in the sound at the grandest scale, and the reverberations and echoes play against each other. But then, I love thunderstorms too for much the same reason.
Thank you for taking the time to look. I hope you enjoy the wobbliness. Happy 100x :)

I posted a Heavenly Sunset shot from this set back on 12/1. That one I did almost nothing to. This one I played with a little. I boosted the blue sky and the orange to make it look more sunsetty (if that's not a word I put dibs on it, lol). Then I darkened the foreground some but it was pretty dark already. I put the most thought in cropping. If I raised the top margin, it would be too much blue sky. I didn't want to pull in the left margin because I liked the sun's beam reaching toward the horizon. If anything I would have taken the left margin out further. I didn't want to extend the bottom margin because, to me, it would throw the scene out of balance. And to pull the right margin in, well I didn't want to do that because I liked how the clouds were reaching down to the horizon -- and I wanted to keep the tree near center shot as much as possible.
